Default No way, the Tarmac project is "world famous"!!!

So I get home from work and get a PM from a fellow NASIOC member who askes me...

"Did I spot your car in the back of Evo Magazine?

Issue 094 / Page 182 top-left corner.

White bug-eye. LHD. WRC symbol in the middle of the passenger side door. Black headlights. STi-like wing wing. And most finally the thing that made me think it was yours...Michelin big white block print tires...which happened to be mounted on the wheels so that the stamped spoke of the wheel is directly across from the 'H' in Michelin.

The pic is of your car (presumably) with a dry field in the background, the rest of the add fades to black. Heck, it is good enough to say you're in Evo!

If it is yours please let me know...and one more thing... I noticed it was your car sitting in Bangkok Thailand, so yeah, you have a "world famous" car."

Went and picked up the issue tonight, and sure enough, there it was. It was in an ad for Revolutions Motorsport Wheels. Warren in the UK used one of the photos I sent him to show off the Millenium wheel!!!

The kicker is that EVO magazine is a UK mag! Pretty cool huh? Who'da thunk it?

Check it:

uh did they ask to use the picture of your car? if not you better call them up right away and demand compensation of some sort. This kind of thing pisses me off SO much.

Yes, they did ask, a while back though, that's why I never really thought anything of it. I actually sent him a photoshop of them on the car, and then forwarded him a real pic after I got them mounted.

You know how it is sometimes in the "industry". Folks have good intentions but sometimes things happen that's out of their control. It's happened to me so many times before that I really never thought much of it actually making it into the magazine.

It's awesome that it did though. The fact they they wanted to use my car in the first place makes it all worth it, even if the pic never made it to print.

And I did get compensated. I was jerked around for over a year with the old US distributor that Warren at Revolutions UK felt bad about it and offered me the wheels at an incredible price. Now they have a new US distributor who is awesome. The US guys sent me a T-Shirt and some stickers to show their support.

Ha, I can only wish. One of the editors for a well respected magazine liked the car very much, and we had planned for something at last years NOPI Nationals in Atlanta (he even gave me his cell number), but he never showed up.

When I inquired about it at their booth, the folks that were there said he was not able to make it out to the show, and they knew nothing about a photoshoot, etc.

You win some, you loose some I guess.

Thanks guys!

Cusson, the Revolutions will go on shortly for sure. I'm scrubbing in the Advans on the other set for a track day in August, but other than that, I will switch back...

I also found a giant nail in one of the tarmac slicks, as well as a small split in two of the sidewalls. I don't want to switch back until I get another set, which right now, are on backorder...ARRGGHH!

Hopefully, I'll be able to get another set for the NOPI Nationals, cause I plan on driving on them to Atlanta.
