Default Clutch Guru's I need your opinion

My clutch is nearly gone again. I am hard on my clutch. I am putting down about 270whp. As I have never been dyno-ed I am guessing but pretty close to acurate. I have had a act clutch last time. Still have the pressure plate and looks good. I currently have a Spec 2+ clutch. Wimpy pressure plate causing strange engaugement problems. As well a little chatter. Currently running act street lite flywheel.

Now I am looking at excedy double clutch setup with organic disks. Or a new oem clutch disk to go with the act. As act uses oem clutch disk with there street setups.

Now I drive mostly street usually tring to avoid traffic. I have PPG 1-2 streight cut syncro set. 3-4 heilcal ppg gears with stock 5th. As well my 1 and 3 syncro's are currently a bit worn. I drive about 150 miles a day just for work. I do a little drag racing once in a while. I drive canyon often. I do a little once in a while autox. I have a habbit of shifting hard and fast. I don't even have a short shifter.

If I am missing anything let me know. but If there are any options I missed let me know also.
thanx

Unless someone has any other advice, I'd say pick up the phone and call gearboxtech.com as they have terribly good advice as well as terribly good pricing on clutches. Andrewtech usually recommends Exedy or ACT. I know Jaime is a big RPS clutch fan, so consider them as well.

Ok I talked with gearboxtech.com. They suggested exedy stage 1 but if money was no problem 2 disk organic was a great option. They told me that they previously sold act clutches but found they wear out to fast.

found this when I went looking.
http://www.autocarparts.com/cars/Subaru/ALL/Exedy/

there are several versions.

So I am looking for some opinions before I call them back.
thanx

If you drive 150 miles a day, those PPG's wont last too long. I would have to agree with andrew and say exedy stage 1. We install a lot of them and they have good engagement and pedal feel. Obviously like you said, the Twin Disc is the best if you have the money.

Don why do you say my ppg gears wont last? They seem to do better then anything I have managed to beak so far. I have had them a year so far with no problems. I have been through several sets of RA gears. I drive hard so I got these. I have yet to hear anyone say anything bad about these gears besides the crazy gear noise. There are no post about these breaking.

I have been looking at the twin disk. Is there any draw backs to this clutch besides the chatter when the clutch is pressed in? For everything I read it sounds about my best chance for a good clutch. Considering how hard I am on them. That is if I get the twin organic. Pleanty of holding pressure and good pedal feel. I hate to spend that much money but if that's what works best then that might be the way I go.

The PPG's are great gears, dont' get me wrong. They are very strong and will take a beating. They tend not to last as long as other gears because of how aggressive the engagement is.

As per the twin disc, there is nothing bad to say about this clutch expect its somewhat noisey. The twin disc will hold lots of power and still has great pedal feel unlike some puked clutchs. If you can afford it, get it.

Hope this helps
