Default Crawford Performance’s 06 Wide Body Conversion

It took six days to create the heavens and earth and on the 7th day there was rest. If only we could be so lucky Our 06 wide body conversion began Tuesday July 25th and on the seventh day, Aug 1st, we were driving the Sti to compete in Sport Compact Car’s Ultimate Street Car Challenge. But it didn’t stop there. We then took it to the X-Games for a little press action, then off to Willow Springs for some track action. Now that the mini tour is over, we finally have the chance to sit down and do a little write up of the entire build. But this break will be short lived as we are preparing this and another car for Hot Import Nights LA. But enough of that, let’s get to the good stuff!

Tuesday July 25th 10:30 am

Staff - “So are we going to do the wide body or what?”

Chris - “Well, if the parts come in today then I guess we could do it”

Staff - “If the parts come in the next hour, we’ll stay all night everyday if we have too”

Staff laughs

11:15 Subaru and UPS show up with the parts

Chris laughs

Nice!! I want one just like it...but bodyshops are expensive.

APR's site says the kit comes with the rear doors, does that mean the actual doors? Im guessing not from the pictures, it seems its just the peice that attatches to the door and needs molding in? What would you estimate body work to cost ontop of the 4000 for the kit?

+1 on tires to see if Stompy did it on the cheap, or if Crawford holds the key to wideness.

Guess APR was not pushing it when they said 295s were all that would fit?

Damn, the grip must be beyond belief.

Hell yes. I've been waiting patiently to finally see the results of your work on this. Cool HB meet 'before' pic, too, with Crawford repped in the background as well! Damn, 305s... tell me you'll be bringing this out on the 20th?

Thanks

The rear doors and quarter panels are covered with a piece that is molded onto the existing car. Sorry we cannot give you a body work cost... Because of the time frame, we did all the work "except for the paint" in house.

No. Actually it's all part of the wide body Kit from APR Performance.

That looks incredible. A nice, subtle wide body kit...never thought it would happen.

Very, VERY nice car you guys have there. Looking forward to SCCC results.
