Wanted (Harrisburg, PA): Donor RS catback for '00

Here's the story. The short version.

I have a cracked midpipe flange on my ghetto catback, and the noise is driving me nuts. So... I'm looking for a free, or very cheap, stock RS exhaust. Need something quiet to hold me over for six months or so, until I turbo swap.

This really sucks. My OE exhaust was the SPT/BroSpeed, I took it off because of the OE pipe diameter, tried to go with a new catback on the cheap, and ended up with this godawful disaster.

*sigh*

If someone has a takeoff, that'd be great. I have a WRX muffler, no piping, and some random stock parts I could offer in trade if need be.

Please help a dude out.

I'll sell you the exhaust in my garage, I'd like to get $100 for it, but we can work on a price. If thats cool, you can come down and pick it up tommorow morning. I just want the damn thing out of my garage.

It's an STi exhaust though, I'll have to get it fitted in order to mount up. That's exactly what I want to avoid. I'm done with trying to fabricate exhausts, I just want stock for the next few months until I go turbo, then I'm getting a Prodrive.

You going to Mach-V tomorrow, Phil?

my catback is coming off shortly.

I'm having Andrewtech bolt up my strommung mid with the wrx axleback I have (cut and rotate =P).

I could get it to you...

^^ That's what my catback was. Then I put the HFC in, which makes that muffler sound like butt. So I hacked it off and put a generic Bosal muffler in its place. Very loud. So I put in a resonator. Helped....

Then I decided to go turbo, so I sold the HFC, and now the catback leaks. Which makes no sense to me.

So is yours just stock? Honestly Dave, I'd recommend an STi axleback with the Stromung mid. That way, if you *do* get an HFC, it won't sound like crap like mine did. Plus, the WRX axleback is like 2.0" whereas the STi one is 2.25" like you want. If I'd known that then.... I wouldn't have any of these problems, most likely. Well, except maybe the crack.

Good idea.

I think I've surmised how this crack came to be. One of the original places that I went to have my catback put together, I believe removed my spring bolts and just used regular ones. I know this because there were no spring bolts, when I went to originally install the HFC in April.

Also, I had to use an exhaust donut I got from Boxer4 when I put the stocker back on; there wasn't one already on there. So it's probably a stress crack from not being able to move.

I put up a thread in the big WTB forum.... but still need something. Prefer local. OBX, used Stromung, Cobb, even stock..... If someone has something, I need it.
