Exclamation FS: AcquaCow's Camera! D70 + lots of extra goodies ($850). 70-200mm VR too ($1400)!

AcquaCow's D70 "kit" ($850)
Quote:
I have a new focusing screen coming in for the D70 on Friday or Monday, then it's going to Penn Camera in Tysons to get the mirror and sensor professionally cleaned.

I've looked around ebay and it seems as if you can get "like new" D70 bodies for about $550 average.

I'll go $475 for the body...which I would argue is "like new" except for the fact that I have ~18k shots on it =) (You can run 100k shots on this shutter before rebuild...I doubt you'll take as many photos as I do, so that should last you a dozen years...or a lifetime).

The Nikon 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G ED IF AF-S DX "kit" lens currently goes for $280-300 new, so I'll go $225. I'll also throw in the Promaster UV filter and Quantaray circular polarizer as well (these filters are not cheap y0!).

So for Body + lens for $700 even.

Now, you'll get more than that of course.

You get the battery charger, a 2nd battery, original Box and packaging as well.

I also won't be able to use my CF cards with the D80, because they switched to SD

I have a 4GB microdrive and a 1GB 75x flash CF card.
The Microdrives ebay for $130 new, so I'll give you mine for $75.
The 1GB CF card goes for $90 new, I'll give it to you for $50.

If you buy the camera + kit lens + both CF cards, I'll let you have everything for $850.

The camera has had the protective plastic cover over the LCD screen for 100% of it's life. The kit lens has had a protective UV filter on it since day 1. Everything is in great shape.

I also have spare camera bags if you would like me to price one of those out =)

For a great set of sample pics: http://dave.oc7.org/images/2006.06.30.chik-fil-a/

Nikon AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF ($1400)
Quote:
This lens turned out to be too wide for what I needed to shoot, so I have to offload it and buy a smaller zoom (or two).

I've only had it for a few months and it's literally in brand new shape.

I've had a promaster 77mm UV filter on it since before it left the store. It's lived all but 4 hours of it's life inside my camera bag.

Price is pretty much fixed unless you have other nikon gear to trade up to it.

It's simply amazing in low light though...I hope I can find a smaller zoom that's this sharp.

Pics taken with this lens:

Thanks for looking,

I will also have my D70 up for sale in a bit with the kit lens.

I am getting it cleaned first.

I almost went with this focusing screen:
http://www.katzeyeoptics.com/item--K...-prod_D70.html
Split-prism FTW!

But it's $105 and I really won't get to use it since I'm selling the camera, so I just went with the $30 factory screen =P

If you're wondering why I'm replacing it at all, it's because I cleaned it once about 1/2 a year ago and I guess I had a spot of something on my lens cloth. The screen is made out of plastic with a soft matte finish, so it put a small scratch in the finish.

Doesn't affect image quality since it's just in the eyepiece and not infront of the sensor, but it can be a little annoying when looking through the viewfinder.

I don't wanna pass any annoyances onward, so I'm just replacing it. I feel better that way.

If you want to see what a focusing screen looks like and where it is located:

I am willing to part out.

That 18-70 is a sweet lens...I wouldn't mind keeping it.

It has taken some sweet pics:

I could toss in a 28mm f/2.8 or something for like $100 if you wanted a lens you could use.

$texas lens being re-priced to $1400 after some research.

Someone found a way to get these cheap and is selling them on ebay for $15XX

I'll beat that by more than $100 for ya.

Interested in driving up to pick it up as well?

I dislike shipping camera equipment...UPS/FedEx are great at dropping boxes.

It all depends on what tairese wants to do.

Focusing screen showed up in today's mail.

I have it installed now.

I took the camera to Penn and they looked at the camera and decided that it only needed to be cleaned with a hand (air) blower, so that was taken care of.

Everything is ready to go right now.

I had a friend or two help me decide what to do with the CF cards and we all decided that if you buy the body, you have to atleast buy the 1Gig card, but I'm lowering the price on that card to $40 to try and be fair about it.

Thanks,
