Default DENVER people: Any info about this car accident? (Car on mountain side)

I searched all over on the local news sites, but nothing I could find. The GF and I headed up Route 6 today (Saturday) and noticed this car hanging on the side of the cliff. On the way back we stopped to see what the deal was and I snapped a few photos.

Sorry for the crappy quality, but the light was low and the light enhancement kept leaving the shutter open on the digital camera. Added a google earth map for location reference.

Looks like the car must have come off of Lariat Loop Road and stopped about halfway down.

I got mad and threw it up there.

or

Someone wanted to dump a car. It would cost too much to tow out so they just left it, and its been there fore years and there are alot more of them in the rouvines

FTW

^Most likely explanation.

There was a motorhome in a place like that in eastern washington 8-9 years ago.. All the crap from the inside was strewn all around. looked like it hadn't been there long.

I took the same highway on my way out hunting a couple years later and it was still there.. Most of the surrounding crap was gone, and a bunch of the aluminum skin was gone (probably harvested by tweakers in Yakima ), but it was still there.

Is that up by black hawk? That road that has the sign that says "OM MY GOD rd"?

If so that car has been there for years.

If that is on the side of lookout mountain in Golden, that car has been there for many years. In the late 80's, early 90's there were about 20 cars in the same area.

I guess that makes sense. I never noticed it before though and I've driven up that way a bunch of times since I moved here. Hard to miss a white car out in the open like that, but maybe I did.

Oh well - was hoping for a more interesting story.

Is there a AWD meet today? I never go to those, silly ricers. Besides, the only good gathering today is the Denver Grand Prix. I would be there, but instead, I'm packing. Packing sucks ass.
