Default Is it possible to reverse a hood scoop?

I have a picture of the ESX WRX with it's scoop turned around. Could I do the same with my '02 when I get an FMIC?

My personal opinion, trade hoods with an RS == definite sleeper! That's exactly what I would do if I did a FMIC (if I had a turbo car)

Sorry, no useful information in my post.

Why exactly? It will serve a purpose. Less drag and it will let hot air out.

What I'm asking is will it not fit turned around? Or will the fitment be really bad?

From what I have read, yes, it will fit. However, there is considerable debate as to whether it will actually help evacuate hot air from under hood. The area at the base of the windshield is actually high pressure (which is why a lot of muscle cars ran cowl induction hood scoops, and why almost all cars have the inlet for the heating and cooling system at the base of the windshield). This means that even with the scoop turned around, the air may be going into the scoop, not out.

I say to each his own, and if you like the look, then go for it. Just don't do it with great expectations of it lowering your under hood temps. If you really want to evacuate air, you will need a hood with a wicker or gurney lip ahead of the opening to create a low pressure region above the opening.
