Default Rally Subaru Service Now

So last week I tired to call them 3 times at different time during the day and no one from the service department picked up the phone. I must of waited from 5-10 mins each time.

I got fed up and when in Friday afternoon to book a appointment and the new guy Steve? was doing his own stuff, I was standing there, must of been like 2 mins. He looks up and finally says hi.

The least he could of done was say hi, just give me a min to finish this up.....

So it is just me or does he do this to everyone else.

Sigh all I wanted was an oil change. I might do it myself next time if this continues.

Rick and Jermey I missed you guys already....

Just got off the phone with parts at Rally, man I miss Jeremy

me "I would like a price on an 06 STi hood scoop splitter"
parts "whats the vin # on the car"
me "I have a WRX its not an STi"
parts "oh then thats the wrong part you want"
me "no...i put an STi intercooler on my car and need the splitter for it"
parts "but thats the wrong part...you need the WRX splitter"
me "no...I need the STi splitter to fit the STi intercooler I have on my car"

This goes on for a bit til I just say please just quote me the price. Then she quotes me for 2 pieces so I ask if the one piece is the rubber sealer that goes aorund the part of the slplitter that sits on top of the intercooler

parts "no the splitter is in 2 pieces"
me "no its only in one piece"
parts "no its in 2 pieces and hers the 2 prices"
me "I better come see what this peice is cause I have taken them out and they are only one piece"
parts - interupting me and trying to talk louder "no its 2 pieces and I would have to go out and look at one to see it"
me "forget it I will come in"

so that is what we have to deal with now......my experiences from Rally now went from 10 out of 10 to a 2 out of 10

Subaru City wasn't much better for me. I went in to ask about options for ordering Cobb parts and the service guy went off on me like I had just kicked his dog. Apparantly neither store will offer Cobb parts anymore and woe to he who dares ask.

I wasn't impressed with the attitude of this guy which is too bad really because the rest of the sales staff and showroom people were very easy to talk to and really seemed to like their jobs.

I was just in at Rally today. They will still carry Cobb parts, the only thing that might not be available for a while is the accessport, they have a couple in stock, but apparently Cobb is coming out with a new model soon....?

Rally still doesn't have a parts guy running the show, but hopefully once one is in place the customer service on that end will improve.

aw man...and I was looking forward to a better experience than the ones I've had with Subaru Mississauga.

Over there, the service is fantastic and extremely friendly, and most sales people are very kind (not the most knowledgable, but very nice), but the sales manager is (insert many many bad bad words here), and unfortunately all deals and final sales have to go through him.

Looks like the rule of "there is always at least 'one'..." seems to apply wherever you go.

btw: I dropped by a Subaru dealership (didn't check its name) near my new house, near a BestBuy and I think a Rock and Roll shop or something, and down the road from a Shanks (near Anthony Henday and White Mud), next to a really really wide road. So far I am happy, but I hadn't had a chance to test the service department. Any reviews?

Best thins is to wite letters to Suby Canada - they might some day get a clue and allow someone else to open a dealership in Edmonton - that doesn't run it like a John Deere dealeship!

I tried to buy a part on Sat. - But alas Rally's parts & service are closed on weekends now????
Paul / Steve / Jeremy / Rocky / Rick - you are all missed!

And make sure when you order the parts, call them if it doesn't show up in a week or so. I order a fog light and somehow, the order got cancel because they find one in their stock, but on their computer, it still say waiting to come in. Take me 3 weeks until the lady (thing it is Marylin, who she say just transfer from subaru city to help out) go into the bin to check for me. The other time when I phone, the other guy just check the computer and told me it still back order and say will call me when it is in, don't even bother to check why there is a special info on the computer.

Man, my 96k service is due right away and i've been not wanting to shell out the $1300 they said it would cost for them to do it. There's no way i'm chancing this with them right now, given the events that have transpired in the last couple of months. I'll have to find someone to do the stuff i can't and do the rest myself, or with a little help hopefully (fingers crossed).

If i start to hear good things about the service at Rally again maybe i'll start getting service done there again, but until then.....

Mark at Centaur is a good guy to order parts from. He's been around Subies for a long time and doesn't pull attitude. He usually knows what you're talking about, or tries to figure it out. I've bought a TON of little stuff from him, and he always tries to do it right. Mistakes happened, but were promptly dealt with.

But they only sell OEM, not aftermarket.

omg...what the hell??? $1000?? $1300??? For the 96k????

In Mississauga, Subaru charges $795.95 + tax. Wow...and here I was thinking THAT was a rip off.

Furthermore, most parts and most fluid changes can be done elsewhere for half the price. NGK parkplugs there are $20 each there (so $80 altogether), and I bought my NOLOGYs for $13 a set (I got a good deal, but they should be no more than $30 a set retail).

I did my 96k for about $300.

Never fear boys, word around the campfire is that a certain shop is gearing up to fill the void quite handily.

Yeah, the Subaru dealership that I went to (name unknown...I just went there almost as soon as I arrived in Edmonton...lol) told me about them and they really sounded good.

I reaaally hope there is at least one super shop in the city.

That would have been Subaru City, that you went past. Rocky was the parts guy there up until a couple weeks ago. Everyone else is talking about Rally Subaru on the South Side.

So I took my car in this morning for the 6000K service with them supplying the Moto oil. He told me that it will be around $125?? I guess I'll see the bill when I pick it up tonight.

I didn't remember it being that expensive last time I when.

My 96k will come up early next year and there is no way I am paying over $1300.

Oh and while I was waiting in line this morning, the lady in front of me asked so where is Rick. He said he retired early. I find that kind of funny.

So if there is a new shop starting up please post here or else I'll just take it to paul or steve. Flex999 wanna hook me up?

I won't be going back to Rally for service it just cost too much. What's their per hour rate now anyways?

I think their shop rate is $95/hour plus GST

No worries....I have the hookup for subie work, so anyone that wants it pop me a pm and I will give you their numbers.

For a oil change that just blows me away. They need to have another rate for oil change. But yeah PM is in your mail.

I might just sell my car by next year, or else haha.

That price was with using Motul for all the replacement fluids, but yeah still crazy expensive i thought. I will do most of it myself i think, as it seems like mostly basic stuff. It would probably be worth the effort for me to buy the factory service manual and do whatever i think i can myself. I think the only difficult sounding things are the belt tensioner adjustment and possibly the spark plugs (they told me it was 2 hours labour to do the plugs, so i'm guessing there is a fair numbers of things that need to be removed to get access to them?).
Wow, $300; i was just guessing and thinking it would cost around $6-700 to do it myself, i didn't realize it was that cheap. Maybe i can convince the wife to get that catted DP i've been wanting for over a year so i can finally go to Stage 2 with the AP .

BTW Flex999: you have a PM; Paul used to work on my car until he left Rally.
