Default 2.2L engine injector noise

Hi, I have a 2000 impreza obs completely stock. I have noticed that when the engine is idling it makes wispy sounds. Its coming from both sides of the engine bay. Someone said its the injectors, does that sound right? I havnt tested to see if the sound increases with rpms. I cant hear it while I am in the car. Thanks

are you having any trouble with it idling or accelarating strangly? if you are then you might check your vaccum lines for a leak.

You could use a stethoscope on the injectors to see if they are the culprit.

The car idles great and accelerates great. The sound is also not constant so thats what makes me not suspect a vaccum leak, it more like ticks. Its a high pitch sound that does increase with rpms but gets drowned out by engine noise as it revs higher.
Hmmm, I am just going to have to find a stethoscope.

Hmm Ill listen to my engine tonight... I think mine does the same thing, it is probably just the valves or injectors. I believe mine does it on the left side of my engine because I messed up putting it back together and bend a valve just a hair I was so freakin pissed off, Stupid chilton manual
