Default Name that engine

I have this engine, i know it's an EJ22 N/A but wich one. Is it the one from the 90-94 Legacy closed deck? Older impreza's?

on the left of the alternator on the block shouldnt there be stamped the engine code?

The closed deck EJ22 was turbo-only, no?

That's a '97 or 98 Ej22. I can tell by the intake box and the EGR. And it's definitely open deck. If you get under it, you should find that it has single port heads...
