Default Difference between Regular AP and Stage 2 AP?

I have been reading over several threads and am very interested in the Cobb AP. But I see that in some threads people state they have the Stage 2 AP. Is the AP that comes with Cobb's Stage 2 package different than the one in the Stage 1 or if you were to buy the AP seperately? Are they talking about different maps?

I am hoping the AP , AP Stage 1 and AP Stage 2 are the same.

Thanks guys.

People will probably start flaming you for not using the search button or going to the www.cobbtuning.com website to find out.

FYI, the COBB AP is an ECU (re)programming tool. You start out reflashing the ECU w/ a Base map. After that you can select different Real time maps to run so that you don't have to keep reflashing the ECU (which can be bad after a while of continous reflashing...I forget the amount you can safely reflash the ECU...but maybe some people will argue differently).

Anyhoo, you start out w/:

stage 1 map if you are running stock.
stage 2 map if you are running a TBE or at least an aftermarket DP.
You can also get custom maps made specifically for your car and your cars mods.

Okay, you need to go to the site and read...it is fundamental!

LoL, thanks for not flaming. I went to the cobb website and I thought the AP's they were talking about in their packages were all the same. Then I went to look at some reviews and I saw people stating stage 1 AP and stage 2 AP, which got me confused. On Cobb's website, they don't go into detail on the 10 maps that are pretuned.

Thanks anyways sir.

Btw, plan on getting an '06 TR soon and getting ready to order:
Cobb AP
Worx DP
Worx TBE
Megan Coilovers
18" Wheels (Not sure which one)
-Then I will be done-

Those two things will put you at Stg2.

If you have a gutted or catless up-pipe you can get boost lower and maybe a few extra ponies

If it does, Most likely... All 06+ are better off.
I thought it was 06 STi that were catless up-pipes, not the wrx.

<--- Not 100% :P

FYI, a TBE includes the DP so if you order both things you will have 2 DPs

The air pump replaces the uppipe now. In order to remove all the cats, a DP is needed along w/ a racepipe (for a shorty DP).
