Default Boost Targets

Well I've dived straight in and gotten into tuning the stock ECU. First thing is to get the boost under control but have a strange issue. Turbo has a 15psi Actuator and I'm running Perrin EBCS 3 port solenoid.

Problem is that usually you should be decreasing WD Duty % but its the opposite. I have to hit around 80% WD Duty to make 14psi which can't be right especially with the EBCS.

Now I run UTEC over the top and it hits 18psi all day every day so can't be a leak or something with the car.

Target Boost, WGDC Intial and Max Maps overhauled.

Log?

What engine? Turbo?

The UTEC and stock ECU probably cycle the solenoid at different rates, which will affect needed duty cycle even if everything else is the same.

You may try pumping up your proportional map a bit.

Freon,

Last night I overhauled Target Boost, WGDC Initial and Max Maps and made 18psi (my target) but peaking towards redline at 22psi. Using my UTEC experience I've got the turbo to make 17psi@3300rpm as opposed to 17psi@4900rpm with maps I posted earlier. I'm getting close as i can meet/exceed boost target but need to get it to be more consistend across the rev range. So I'm happy that the Perrin EBCS is indeed working fine.

Car is a Forester XT with AVO 400L (Similiar to APS SR40) with all supporting mods except for internals but still running stock air box.

With logging I'm using UTI (Navybluesubaru) as I find it's easy to track boost in fast logging mode. I want to use EcuExplorer but am not sure on which parameters to log as there as many parameters. I'll post up some UTI logs soon.

Can you give me some insight on the proportional map as I haven't attempted to touch it? I want to get those 3 maps mentioned making 18psi across the rev range then will play with the Turbo Dynamics proportional map.

I've seem to got the boost under control. I'm going to tweak the Turbo Dynamics Proportional Map then move onto Timing.

Fuel I've bump up from 11:3 to 11:5 in the Lo Det Map and 10:5 > 10:8 for the Hi Det.

Car seems to be fine at the moment!
