Default Anyone Replace Rear Wheel Bearings?

Getting that telltale whirring sound that tracks with speed and a looseness in a rear wheel on my '97 82Kmile Forester. Anyone ever change their wheel bearings out? Can I do it with the tools commonly found in a garage? How much work, how difficult would it be?

Thanks.

Wilkey

you'll need a press, i don't see why you couldn't do it yourself except the pressing part. But then again i do this for a living, it might be more complicated then i think cause i do bearing all the time.

Its a pain in the rear and well worth the $250 parts and labor to get it fixed. You will need a hub puller and highly recommended is air tools with impact wrenches.

Wheel bearings are NOT covered in engine/drivetrain warrenty.
