Default SCCA Texas Tango Solo II, Sunday, August 27th

The Solo II Season of competition started just four months ago and now we're down to the "Texas Tango Solo II" on Sunday, August 27th and our September 16-17th Solo II Drag Weekend! Registration for the 27 August event will official open at dlbracing.com on Tuesday, August 22nd. The event site is "tentative" at Houston Middle School--thank you Darin for procuring the site for us! While there are faint hopes for an Anchorage site...we felt it necessary to establish this alternate site so soloists can lay in plans and register!

Sunday, August 27th Schedule at the "tentative" site:
09:00-10:00AM* Registration "Officially" Opens
09:00-10:30AM* Tech Inspection Continues
10:30AM* Novice Walk-Thru with Novice Training Program -- this is open to ALL Competitors
10:45AM* Safety Briefing with Solo II Safety Steward Program -- this is a MANDATORY attendance for all competitors. While you're welcomed to attend this presentation at every event, the Region only requires your attendance at your first Solo II each season. You'll learn about your responsibilities while at an event and while working corners, cone displacements, radio calls and other safety matters occuring at Solo II events.
11:10AM* Driver Meeting -- a welcome by the Event Chair and SCCA Board of Directors. The first car on course will take place as soon as workers are on course and Competitors are on grid.

The Region is moving to dlbracing.com as an online registration and we are promoting, pushing, and pleading with you--please pre-register for this event. It helps the Event Chairman plan his event and helps Registration and Timing & Scoring too! You may pay online via paypal OR you can pre-register and pay at the event with cash or check. We do ask that you call the Region office at 632-2890 to register your season competition number before going to dlbracing. For those without an SCCA membership card, you will start with 300 numbers. Region members may choose a competition number between 2-99 that is not already reserved.

Registration will be maintaining two lines this year: I registered online so I'm here to sign the waiver, be scanned for the event, and head to tech and the second line will be for those who did not pre-register online. Oh, another reason to pre-register online--lunch, which is provided for COMPETITORS and Region workers, will only be provided for those pre-registered competitors this year!

Entry fees for the Texas Tango Solo II:
SCCA Members $30
Non-Members $40

Details for weekend:
-- Lunch provided for those Competitors who have pre-registered at dlbracing. If you are unwilling to reigster online, you may call the Region office at 243-2122 to pre-register not later than Friday at noon.
-- Helmets. Please confirm that your helmet is within the Snell ratings for this year--1995 or newer--this is a change from last year!!
-- Minor waivers. If you are a competitor under 18 or will be having friends/family that fall into this category, please remember that we need both parents signatures (options are there for one parent) for under 18 years of age individuals.

For more information, please contact the Region office at 243-2122.

Safe travels and we'll see you down at the ol' Pylon Corral, Pardner--it's time for the Texas Tango!

Squealing in anger...mmm, I forgot to let Winslow know that I have a set of "like new" Subaru floor mats to donate to the Eklutna Saturday Soiree! I believe they came out of an STi?

Sounds good. I sent you the certificate. Someone is going to be the lucky recipient of your generosity.

Default Wow! The "NASIOC News" works FAST!

Hey Winslow,

Sounds like you've already heard from the former owner of the floor mats--he still wants them? even though they had been left an event? and left in storage in our garage since Memorial Day!? Guess Bill will enjoy competiting in the WRX for the storage "rent" fee. Kewl.

Thank you for all the time you've put into the AKIC NASIOC Eklutna gathering. See you tomorrow!

Those are armysti's floor mats and I'm sure he still wants them... Maybe PM him to remind him you got em still lol. He forgot them at the one event and has not made it to any since then to get them I don't think.

Rallygoddess,

What is the going storage rates for "FLAT" mats?

By the way I am signing up for SCCA for this event... so you need to leave me alone now.

Yipper, $10 off this next event for those who attended the damp-and-delayed Houston event, unless you already took your discount at the Bartlett Bear Paw one. Among the NASIOC regulars that leaves Hope, Matt, Jason, Kiwi, and Jake (and Tom?).

Eh, it's all worse than you think.

Yes, it is my plan that you will be able to get the credit when paying online. Heck, I just registered myself online and took the credit. But, for now, pre-registration for this event is disabled. I dunno when 'we' will decide to open it back up, maybe on August 22nd.

I hope to see you all there. Or somewhere.

OK, registration for this event now really is up and running at dlbracing.com. Yes, really, it is!

Keep in mind that pre-registration gets you lunch and the nearest food store is a bit of a trek from Houston. If you don't get back in time you might miss a run so pre-register or pack a lunch.
