Press Release:
Quote:
PEBBLE BEACH, CA - August 18, 2006: Jaguar North America today announced the Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) as well as option packages for the supercharged 2007 XKR Coupe and Convertible.

Taking its performance to a new level,

Jaguar has engineered the stunning 2007 XKR to exceed the high demands that consumers rightly expect from a supercharged Jaguar sports car. Complete with advanced aluminum chassis, sophisticated transmission and enhanced sporting exterior and interior styling cues, the all-new 2007 XKR Coupe will be priced from $86,500 (USD) and the 2007 XKR Convertible will be offered from $92,500 (USD). (Prices include destination and delivery charges.)

"The 2007 XKR Coupe and Convertible are sensational cars to drive that define the road," says Mike O'Driscoll, president of Aston Martin Jaguar Land Rover. "With a 420bhp supercharged AJ-V8 engine under its hood, the 2007 XKR provides those who have an affinity for power and luxury with the combination of exhilaration and refinement."

I saw one here in Chicagoland two weeks ago and let me tell you, it was absolutely stunning in person. It actually looks better than my neighbors Aston Martin. Kudos to Jaguar.

I like everything except the headlight design.. it just doesn't flow with the car's lines.

Front end looks alot like an Aston but over all a very beautiful car. The dark gray coupe pictured above is gorgeous.

I've seen a few around but went to look see if the Imperial Jaguar dealer had any to look at. They were closed but since the showroom floor was raised the car was at eye level from outside. The coupe looks really good from this perspective - especially those rear haunches. It is even more pronounced than on the XJs and you just want to run your hand along it.

Absolutely gorgeous cars, but it seems strange to me that they haven't upped the power any from the previous generation, ala mercedes or bmw. What does this signify? Lack of money? Different target buyers? Both?

Most purchase Jaguar for the interior and the elegance. 400hp is plenty for 98% of the target buyers.

Ford HQ not allowing them to raid Aston Martin's customers. IIRC the DB9 gets the same V12 with a higher state of tune.
