Default Question about emissions system.

I have a NA 05 RS that has california emissions on it. I'm just wondering what all it consists of and if it can be taken off the car. Michigan doesn't have emissions testing so I'm not to concerned. I had the car up on a lift the other and it appear to have three catalytic converters, at least three box type things on the exhaust that look like them, then there is a resonator after the three converters.

How do I get this cali emissions crap out of my car??? Does it restrict the motor at all? I dont' know all what all lies behind a cali emissions.

Mike

If you want to violate federal emissions laws and pick up 1 or 2hp, go for it! Otherwise, leave it alone.

I'm not aware of any additional of different emmisions related equipment for a california subie. Replacing your exhaust with an aftermarket system that consists of a high flow cat should net you some decent power and keep you emissions legal. But since your not concerned with emissions legality you could have something made to replace the cat section of the exhaust.
