anyone else think that the 2.5i (and possibly other models) are sluggish in the low end? I mean, anything below 3k seems like your stepping on a soft plum. Its great in the power band....aroudn 3500+ but below it seems powerelss. anyone else have any comments?

My 2.5L forester S is not sluggish in my opinion. I find the power starts around 1800-2000 and really builds from there. Of course if your trying to accelerate while being in too high a gear of course it will feel sluggesh.

My 4EAT wagon seems slow off the start than my 5spd Impreza RS. Tranny is everything

My 97 legacy outback (ej25/4eat) was a bit sluggish... but after I customized my intake, borla headers, lightweight crank pulley, Grounding kit,its not so sluggish anymore
