Who went to the RallyX yesterday?

I was there and it was great. The whole day ran incredibly smooth and we actually finished HOURS early.
The good thing about RNY rally-x's is that the drivers don't have to work the course so you can get right back in line for your next run. The downside is that I didn't/couldn't get one single action photo because I was always in my car during competition.

Rob was there. I can't wait to see what he got.

How many runs did you get at how long (average) per run? What was your opinion of the course?

I'd love to know how many DNF's occured. I went to one last year and there were at least ten. My favorite was a guy who blew the oil line on his turbo.

6 runs at less than a minute each. I think my best was .85 minutes and my worst was .92. The course was decently flowing with some elevation change but very rocky in places. It's a very different set up and feel compared to SCCA and other events.
Not many DNF's IIRC. Nothing dramatic anyway.

Do they really time you in fractions of a minute instead of plain seconds?

Actually the timing equipment they used yesterday was in seconds and they converted. I know the TSD's I've done were all in hundredths of a minute. I guess that is a common practice.

Nope. $85.

It was expensive but worth it to me.

$85 is very expensive for a rallyx.

Most SCCA events are at or about $40 or less if you are an SCCA member. Some have been a bit more, but $85 is WAY high. Though true, the closest ones are either with New England Region or D.C. Region in Virginia.

I was planning to go to that one and also to Perry's park on day before. Unfortunatly my tranny repair has been dragging for over 6 weeks now, and I ended up missing it.

But I am more bummed out about missing Perry's Park one, because ss far as I am concerned that rallycross is the best around. Its only about $40, the course is about 2 minutes, and they would always squeeze more runs if they have time, which they always do.

True. Don't forget that the organizer brings in workers so none of the participants have to work. All classes run togther and in any order, so after a run you just get back on line. It works like that all day except for during the lunch break. We were done by around 3PM! It was nice to get home early for a change.

got any more info on that one? Is it only once a year?

they got 4 more events left this year.

For me its ~ 6 hour drive, but its worth it to go every once in a while. Hopefully I'll get my car fixed so I can go to one or two this year still.
