Anyone running this combo? Please let me know. I want to know if it is "safe".

Safe? Yes.

Optimal? Not without a tune.

Stock airbox & ram air setup FTW.

Different cars, different setups, different altitudes, different weather, lots of different opinions you will get. (Buy a cheap laptop and data log your car, if you "really" want to know if your car is running safe.)

safe but, i think you've got a better chance of losing power with the intake than without it, Cobb specifically lists the SPT intake as having a inproper design for the MAF in their accessport guide. (obviously this must be taken with a grain of salt since cobb has an intake of their own to sell, but still.)

Did you read the sticky at the top of this forum? No ..............you didn't. Here's an idea....let's ask the same questions over and over and over and over again until this forum becomes clogged and no one wants to post here again.

Cobb didnt test the WRX intake, they tested the LEgacy intake.

They are currently testing the wrx one.

that being said, I vote for an answer that isnt there, a combo of both.

Unabomber, I worry it's too late.

EDIT:

check the 2.5 litr turbo forums for a partial answer.

i have stage 2 and that thing, ZERO issues and the car does feel a tiny bit stronger plus it sound really good. I'm very picky when feeling things in my car and nothing feels wrong with this set up

I think it's important to mention the Impreza tested with this intake was an STi not a WRX.

Tat would change the retriction factor spoken about in the article.
