I've had the CrO2 intercooler kit for a few years, and was looking for something new to get me into the 7's in the 1/8th. I was wondering if anyone has seen any +/-'s to using the the CrO2 intake charge kit.

I've seen them used on SRT-4's before and the results were pretty good from what I remember. Bascially is was a frozen metal ball that hung in the intake to cool down the air..
I don't know of anyone using them on a suby. Atleast I've yet to see anyone. |

i have been concidering using one along with the intercooler sprayer. but i am wondering if the bulb in the intake path would disrupt the air flow.

Sounds interesting… Where would it be placed in the intake track, pre-turbo vacuum or post-turbo pressure? I see they’re designed for pre-turbo placement but really doesn’t seem like it’d do much good unless used to cool the actual turbo charge. Also looks like you can buy just the bulb unit too that way you could install it in existing IC piping if wanted.

There’s another company that makes a really impressive CO2 intake chiller system that may be of interest. Not quite as practical as the DEI system only cause it takes significant CO2 yet provides far greater cooling; really would be ideal for a purpose built drag-setup. Damn things expensive though…
