Default New 2 this part of Cars and have a big question

I have never really messed with intercooling or nitrous before but I think that i have a pretty good idea of each of these concepts

I am currently building a 383 stroker engine with a weiand 142 roots type blower. I am looking to make a little bit more power as i have a little extra money to spend (approx 400-700 dollars)

I am debating on weither to run a nitrous system (50 or 75 dry shot)

or

a intercooler so i could raise boost level

which would be better for the money, and safe.

I realise that nitrous is only power sometimes and is quite dangerous to use

but im not sure if i could afford an intercooling system
i have looked for intercoolers but have not found much in the way for a small fmic for older model cars (<-----------mines a 79 )

or should i not just waste my time and money because it wont be worth it

need advice or something

please help
-TheDocta

CN: should i get nitrous or an intercooler???? and have LIMITED funds

In my opinion, if you're after the highest performance potential with respect to acceleration, the nitrous set up is what you're after.
I don't think the intercooler will come anywhere close to achieving the same results.

That's just my opinion and I'm not an expert.

nitrous and intercooling do entirely different things. It'd be REALLY hard to intercool a roots blower unless you have it discharge through an air/water manifold into your intake manifold, or find a way to combine the two. Maybe water/alchy injection would be better .

what do you mean by water/alcohol injection, like a dry system, or an intercooler spray?

Im confused

nope, you spray water/alcohol mix (can be straight one or the other, or a mix) right into the intake charge. it evaporates and cools everything. free power!

Water and N2O might both cool the intake charge, and have oxygen in them, but they are total opposites when it comes to combustion. The oxygen from the n2o is used to complete a given oxygen fuel ratio to create fire while water is used to cool and slow combustion. I <3 water injection. N2O is ok too.....

peace
