A panel filter and snorkus delete won't do anything. It almost makes no difference in sound, either.

Edit: Though in my experience you make power from cold-air intakes but not so much with short rams.
Your so very wrong man. Taking out snorkus and adding panel filter made the boost whine louder, bpv significantly louder, and added the woosh sound. I also thought that it made my car a little more responsive too. Ohh and also, the car (engine) as a whole became significantly louder.

I have the stock air box, I have a big 16g along with other sopporting mods. when i went to have it tuned the guys that tuned it told me that i should get a intake. i was surprised that they would reccomend it they said it would make a decient difference, but it would have to be retuned after I installed it.
my buddy also just showed me a article in a magazine of a sti that they did mods to then dynoed to show improvements. the second or third mod was a intake and it gained i believe 7whp. I dont think it was a ebay one tho... lol
I just wanted to chime in to say they have been dynoed to give improvements, Also i dont believe the car was tuned for the intake.

I did it and I would have to disagree with you. My definition of "significantly louder" is probably different from yours.

I agree with WRXRallyBlue, it did make the turbo whine a little more, but I cant hear the bpv at all, and I have the "ghetto intake" mod done, and maybe a little butt dyno increase, but I doubt any numbers would likely show from it
