The guy who is working for them in that instance is definitely a jackass.

Just went to Crabtree this weekend and it wasnt quite what I expected. Talked to Rich initially, who was real cool and not very pressuring. When I went to see him, he was busy somewhere else and I was directed to a new salesman. From there it was an adventure. He told me that I new more about the car then he did, then proceeded to tell me some very interesting stories about cars that are coming from the factory.....As we drove around. Meanwhile, having driven WRX's before I knew something was wrong, this car was reaaaallllyyyy sllllooowww.
Thing that drives me nuts is that they let me test drive the car and it hadnt been PDI'd yet. So, basically it was in safety mode and drove like crap. Mentioned it to him and Rich and both made light of the situation. Why would you ever try to convince someone to buy a car that drives slow and sluggish?
Although they are offering the best deal,(21,900 Sedan W/spoiler, before Rebate, Tax, Title)Is this really the place to buy a car? The dealer plate even fell off the car while we were driving and the salesman had to go drive around for 10 minutes and find it.
Anyone with any experience there let me know. I am not saying they arent a good place to go, because so far Rich has been very helpful. But this weekends experience was a little scary.....

I want my WRX already!

What's with all these dirty salespeople coming in here trying to pawn off cars? You're not vendors, and these threads aren't for you to make sales pitches.

Greg, I've not purchased from Crabtree, but they're my local dealer and I use them for parts and warranty service. So far so good, nice people. The cars were repaired on time without hassles, although no big jobs. I will be taking my 02 WRX in soon for the clutch TSB replacement, hopefully they won't give me a hard time about that.

My car was purchased from crabtree subaru at first they were very cool, but then they pulled some unbelivably insane ****.

I purchased the short throw shifter, and they would not install it and just left it in my rear set saying its an Aftermarket part and that they could not/would not install it and that it would void the warranty. My father argued with them saying it was a part sold by SOA and that they should install it, they would not, so we got our money back.

We just wanted to get away from them they are nuts. I paid ~25,000 for my 04 wrx wagon when they first came out, that was WITH tax title etc.

.
This is standard procedure; read the performance catalogs and you'll see it clearly states the parts are for offroad use, may void warranties... It's amazing that they have the gall to sell parts this way, but many (not all) other dealers would have pulled the same stunt.

I have nothing but bad experiences at anchor.

$100 deposit on car, bought car, later found out on my own deposit not put toward sale of car, had to ask for money back.

Would not have bought car for another two weeks (to save for taxes) was assured check would not be put through for two weeks, bought car, check put through next day, would not refund all of my bounced check fees.

My speaker is blown with 4000 miles on car they deny there is a problem and will not listen to problem with me in car " ill be out in 10 minutes to listen" never saw him.

I will not return to that lot. Bald Hill here I come. I got a good price but now would have rather paid more elsewhere.

Snowphun, the funny part was they said they would install it but didnt, and just left it in the backseat and did not tell anyone.

I talked to 3 other dealerships in my area they all laughed and said they would install it no problem and it wouldnt void warranty,

Angry Last Chance

So I called Crabtree this morning to try and purchase my car this morning and the salesman told me that they had the car I wanted and that they would meet or match another dealer quote....... So I we get there and the guy is all cool, and tells us again what he said on the phone. We look through inventory and he finds a WRB sedan with exactly the options I want but with the Prodrive Wheel Package, and additional $1900. Sales manager refused to take the wheels off so he could sell the car.... Not only that but after I gave him the other dealers quote, they basically told me that there was no way they could touch that price.....

Looks Like Anchor Subaru is the winner, gonna put down a deposit tomorrow(but not without their gaurentee that it is against the price of the car)

Default shifter

Brian, I've been told just the opposite, that Subaru may not extend the warranty if there is a short-throw shifter involved. Just a word of caution to our friends...

I got my STi from Brian at Secor and continue to communicate with him.....and it's been 7 months since I bought it! He is a straight shooter (whether it's in his best interest or not) and I'd urge anyone looking to pick up any Subie to go talk w/him. Five minutes of conversation is all you'll need to know I'm correct. And hello Brian - hope all is well, as always.

Ahhh, Crabtree. I took my Legacy GT there a few months ago, as I agree to have the timing belt changed before I sold it. I had a coupon for a $239 tbelt change, figured if I got out of there for ~$300 I'd be happy. No surprise, according to them every seal on my engine was gushing oil, the tensioners were seized... They offered to take care of it all for around $800. No thanks, but I did have them replace the tensioner as it's a good practice.

When I picked the car up I saw they had charged me more for the tensioner than they sell it for at the parts counter (which is of course much more than online prices), *and* charged me a half hour labor to put it on. Apparently they forgot that it had to come off anyway to do the timing belt. I had to go through SOA and many phone calls to the dealer before they gave me back the excess charges.

I find this dishonest and dirty; I'm pretty dissapointed. We will be buying a new GT in the future, I plan to buy it elsewhere.

Too bad, because I found the parts counter people to be very nice, but this is the second time (in two visits) the service department gave me a hard time. I've had no interaction with sales.

Lmao.. I happen to be looking over their desk.. They have A Customer that got a Lawyer after the dealer Because they would not cover something under Warranty...

I finally told a guy about the dealership.. he was a Customer.. Nevertheless he wont be coming there anymore..

and After I clear off my Sales sheet I will be leaving myself.

This new guy came in for a interview today, and he asked are you guys on Commission? I said yes.. He got up, and handed the sheet back to the Manger, and said see ya later man.

And they don't give fair prices on cars at all..

not only are they rude, but I would never go back there EVER!
