you know, I'm a gaming nerd as well, but when I went last year... it was too much. I couldn't handle the dozens of sweaty overweight nerds waiting in line for DDR... the smell was amazing. The LAN room was even worse- think of a few hundred sweaty nerds cramped together in a large room, with all of their lighted ugly computer cases and fans going, heating the room up. Yes, I do too have a lighted computer and everything like that... but I also value personal hygeine. (at least more than most nerds.
)
When they announced free bawls outside the LAN room, I was just astounded at how incredibly selfish everyone was in getting to the table where they were being handed out. You'd see a half dozen nerds walking away with as many bawls as they could handle, (no pun intended) and the rest of everyone mobbing and shoving for the front of the line (actually a few people did get trampled because of nerd greed, which surpasses most all other forms of greed I've ever seen)
Yes I love a good lan. Do I love 3,000 nerds congregated together in one building? Not so much.
