Default IC welding

Ok, I have an intercooler off of a saab 900 (or I think that's where it's from).

Currently, it's end tanks are on the sides along with the inlet and outlet. Is it possible to modify it so that it can be top mounted? If so, who would provide such a service (any welding shop?)?

Oh yea, I'm in So. Cali so if anyone knows a place in the area, let me know.

Thanks.

Any welding shop with experience in Aluminum, Have to be kinda careful, as some places may say sure no problem and then completely botch the job, so when you go to a welding shop ask for references on aluminum work they have done and then go talk to those people.

you can top mount that IC, Paul Ecklund did it, I'm going to do it, and SubaChad has done it, I'm sure Chad will chime in and link to his website that shows his with a brief writeup.

sorry for not having more info, but it can be done as a top mount with no modifications, that's the main point

It's not completly mod free, you do need to trim a little off one of the end tanks to make it fit between the firewall and the TB. You'll also need a little padding on it so the IC doesn't vibrate against the firewall.

Here's that link you were referring to...

I don't think it will need to be modified to fit an rs. I have one, although it is not mounted yet.
