Default I kid you not...

Ok I know I'm not alone; I feel that the drivers of Toyota Corollas and Camrys aren't always the greatest out there. Maybe it's the sheer numbers of these particular models out there that skews the "oh my ****ing God I can't believe that ****head just did that, speed the **** up!" curve slightly. Maybe it's the appeal of the reliable, efficient Japanese automobile that attracts the ****tiest drivers on the planet.

Anyway, today, I saw a Camry (you guessed it, that sand/gold/champagne colour) Westbound on Granville in Richmond just past 3 Road signal right, then move into the left lane.

"Odd", I thought.

Then it proceeded to drive at 38-40km/h in front of me.

"MOTHER****ER!", I thought.

Then as I passed it, the driver had a book on her steering wheel. She was driving and reading a mother****ing book! A BOOK?!

What the [insert chinese swear word] (wtd). This is an all time new low. I think it actually hurt my feelings.

Im not surprised.. as someone that drives around a lot (part of my job) -- i've seen way too many people piss me off on the road, then when i drive by them.. they are pre-occupied with something else.. ie: talking on phone.

Today i almost got hit when a parked car decided to pull out in front of me in Coal harbour, i pulled up beside the girl and she was on the phone.

Yesterday, I drove from Surrey to Abbotsford, then over to Mission, through Maple Ridge on to Coquitlam and Burnaby, then back to Surrey via New West and the Patullo. Over 200 km on the STi, and I'll admit, the first few cities I hit were beautiful. People in Mission and Hatzic, all the way through to Maple Ridge knew how to drive. Hell, there were many times I went into the left lane because I just didn't want to go any faster.

Then I hit Coquitlam.....

Urge to kill rising, indeed.

I don't think it has anything to do with the car, it's just the sheer numbers of those with Corolla's, Camry's and even Civics to some extent.

That and the fact that you were in Richmond where the drivers are notorious there (I live there so I would know). I've never feared more for my life than walking through the Aberdeen mall parking lot...

The bane of my life....the beige Corolla....

If you want to have fun though, hit the Supertones as you come up on them and watch the reaction....guaranteed amusement!

you should know me better than that.
You wanna go faster, I'm happy to get out of your way unlike the hordes of jackasses I ran into in traffic today.

Besides, your car is slow.
When would you need to pass me anyway?

that's about it too.
For argument sake, I took a count today of the stupidity I encountered on my travels through Coquitlam, Burnaby, Vancouver, Richmond, Delta, and Surrey. There were 16 incidents of stupidity from pulling a u-turn in the middle of Bridgeport and Shell, to driving 10 under the limit in the left lane.

10 cases of asian stupidity (mostly in Richmond)
4 cases of middle aged white stupidity (or is it arrogance?)
2 cases of idiotic Khalsa stupidity (truckers on cel phones)

Call me what you will, but it appears that stereotypes are there for a reason.

This is why I take transit. I'd probably die of heart attack from all the stupidity-induced stress on the roads. Skytrain: sit back, relax, enjoy the view.

2am is driving time.

reminds me of the time I passed a Maserati sedan doing under the speed limit on 64th in Surrey. I thought to myself as I passed him in my minivan, "that poor motor must be so full of carbon".

fast cars wasted on old people, ftw!

Coquitlam has to be one of the most horribly set up cities in the lower mainland. Stay away from there on weekends, and limit trips to Ikea to after 6pm.

I'd still rather go to Ikea in Coquitlam than Ikea in Richmond.

A friend of mine was once at a parking lot when some c-lai in a Benz SUV stole his spot (he was waiting with his signal and all). After she gets out of the car he proceeds to yell at her:

"You're the reason why everyone makes fun of us!"

Of course he was asian himself in a gold/champagne Camry.

The only time I've been really pissed of is when someone in a BMW hit my dad's Buick while parking and then proceeded to tell us how it was our fault and that expensive cars should be parked closer to the store and how cheap domestic cars should be parked further away.
