Default Sometimes I love my job

I'll post this here because I know you guys will appreciate this more than most people I know.

I work for a small production company covering the world of video games. We get to go to product launches at various locations around North America and they are usually pretty dry. Well next week I'm going to Detroit for one that's a bit less dry. Here are some of the details:

"The main event takes place at the Ford Proving Grounds test track where we’ll start with hot laps in the Ford GT, Shelby Cobra concept car, Shelby GT500 and Mustang GT. We’ll also do the autocross (you’ll be able to drive through a course and test your times/skills against a Ford test driver) in the Shelby."

I just found out about this yesterday and insisted that I be the one to go. This was confirmed today.

I can't even believe it.

My plan is to beat the Ford test driver in the Autocross so that they offer me a job driving Ford Windstars at break neck pace around the track.

I just found out that my boss wants me to host the segments. Time for my on-camera debut. Now I'm nervous.

Yeah, that's about right.

Be careful with the words "break neck" and "Windstar"

I can think of better "jobs" but this is still pretty good.

I hope the track is big enough and gives you time to throw up during the hot lap

methinks there's a story that goes along with this.

Well done Ryeeno.

I don't think Ryeeno has been out on a track in a fast car yet. I'm just hoping the driver is good enough and the track is twisty enough to make him empty his stomach...... while being caught on camera

Do the TBC Karts in Richmond count as fast cars? I'm company champion so I figure that the Shelby GT500 will just be a small step up from that.

Don't worry, they won't be letting any of the guests drive those cars around a track flat out. They'll set up a little autocross where you'll top out in 2nd gear and let you try a Mustang GT without danger of killing people or hitting anything.

Most of the time I hate mine. All they do is get pissed off because I don't work fast enough. Eventhough i'm still meeting my company policies everyday, and not doing anything wrong.

Cool!

So will we be able to watch it when it airs? Maybe you could do a special Nasioc/Subaru wink or hand motion or something? Is the there something like that? Or you could try fitting the word "VIC" somewhere in your segment. Like you could talk about your friend or your pet dog, "VICtor", loving Ford's or something like that....
