Impreza GC8 Anyone Done A 1997 2.2l To 98 2.5rs???

just want to get an idea of what needs to be done and if its even worth it or should i just put another 2.2L back in it. my impreza's motor is dying thats why im asking

on a 97, it's plug and play.....on a 96 there are a couple plugs that need changed but p&p for the most part......

It shouldn't be an issue since you don't have a plug for it in your wiring. What I did was remove it alltogether from the motor, block off the port on the manifold and plug the port on the drivers side head.

I couldn't find a suitable pipe or hydraulic fitting to plug the port on the head so I cut the pipe that was on there, tapped the inside of the fitting to fit a small bolt and made my own plug.

I think you would be just fine to leave everything alone and run it not plugged in.
