Default Anyone had problems with SOA customer service?

I've called SOA twice in 6 months over the same set of problems I can't get repaired, both times I have gotten the same guy I think. I can't get a bit of help or sympathy out of the guy. I keep hearing SOA bends over backwards, but everytime I call I feel like I get the cold shoulder and all I am asking for is assistance getting a 6 month smoking turbo issue resolved.

Sorry had to rant somewhere. If anyone is interested should be easy enough to see what I'm calling them for by looking at my other posts.

Anyone know somebody really nice at SOA?

Do you think it would be worth it to try your local forum as well? Maybe there's a regional SOA rep that others have dealt with in your area? .....just throwing out ideas.

Thanks! I don't want to cross post, though a good idea.

What exactly is the issue and what did he tell you to/he would do?

There may be a reason for the delay, like waiting for the regional rep, etc.

The issue is my car has smoked from the hoodscoop (it's coming from the turbo heatshield area) and from the tailpipe at least once a week on startup for the last 6 months. I've taken it in over 7 times for this single issue. The dealerships can't make it replicate on command, so they won't do anything at all besides start it up and wait for smoke (which they never see). SOA seems to feel this is just fine. Two days in a row is the longest they have kept it, and frankly after not having my car 12+ times for repairs in the last 6 months I am really getting tired of this. I've paid for diagn more times than I can count. I've offered to continue to pay if they actually remove something and look, but they won't.

lol, thanks! felt good to get that out.

Noone is doing anything. SOA said they can't help until the dealership sees the smoke with their own eyes, (I have a mech who has seen it, his word is not enough) and the dealership can't make it smoke, so they won't open up anything. Forgot to answer your question coherently.

In order to figure out what is wrong, they have to see what it is doing. THey need to find out where the smoke is coming from. Until then, they would just be guessing as to what they problem may or may not be, and I am sure you would be more upset if they fixed something and you had to go back because the problem was still there.

Maybe you can help speed the process along. Either leave the vehicle with them for a while so they can duplicate it, (more than a few days) or maybe take pictures when it happens...that might help them better understand what is happening.

BUT...you should not be paying for diagnosis if the vehicle is still under warranty and nothing has been tampered with....as long as you are going in for the same issue.

I agree with you wholeheartedly in theory.

The car is stock and always has been. The problem is the car has been in 7 times already for this problem, they are not interested in keeping it longer than two days, and frankly I can't afford to keep giving up my car every two weeks when they never find a problem. This has gone on too long. I will probably end up trading it in if it goes much farther this has been insane. At least 12 trips to the dealership since February. My brand new car should not be shooting oil through the whole system and I am going to fix it or get rid of it before something serious gets ruined. There is so much blowby you would not believe it. I have pictures and video, it's not enough for them to do anything with they said, they have to see it themselves. Gah.

I would have more sympathy, but I was treated just as horribly in the first two warranty repairs also which were easy to reproduce, so at this point I just don't feel this situation is close to being right.

Have you tried taking the car to another dealer to have them look at it? Maybe a different set of eyes might find something
