I ordered + got mine the other day, and im not the best with wiring but I was curious how you guys hooked them up? I got the diagram but I thought it would be close to plug and play as the stocker but maybe not?
Any help would be nice....

dont use hella relay in my opinion...just get some wire and some male and female connectors & crimp & connect... ground to a near bolt & ur done... i honesty dont think that the hella relay is needed the factory one is fine... & i no ppl r going to say " im wrong its louder with the hella relay" but u know what even if it is.. which i dont think it is, the 5 dB difference doesnt matter when u unlease the horns on a dumb@ss driver

so just wire the power tabs together on the horn and ground them and tie the stock wire into the power wire?
*edit* lol its a wiring question i would prefer to not search cause wiring can get tricky, so why not just get a direct answer for the question i need? |

it has been answered 10000000000000000 times with diagrams and everything you could possibly want to know for the 3 or 4 different ways people hook them up, not to mention the 2 diagrams that comes in the box with the horns

This is the diagram you want to use to hook them up. I used them as have multiple people on here. If you do it this way, they will be as loud as they were designed to be.

^That's the way I wired mine in. Hella provides the relay for a reason.

The relay that came up with mine was not functioning. I just used the stock wiring. I compared it to another person who wired it the relay and they sounded about the same.

Correct me if I am wrong, but it's possible to just take out the stock horns, connect the supertones right to the existing wiring (without changing the female connectors), ground them, and they'll work. It's that simple.
But mine are hooked up in the same way as the diagram that was posted earlier. |

thats the way mine are hooked up, just took off the stockers, and then spliced some more wire so it would reach to my mounting location.

THE RELAY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LOUDNESS!!!!! Do you guys even know a relay works????? The reason they may be louder with the relay is IF you use thicker wiring then the OEM horn wires.... That has absolutely nothing to do with the relay. The CHEAP Hella relay is a $2 off the self 12v automotive relay...crapper than the ones used on your factory horns....its the WIRING that can make a difference... FYI: Hella's POS relay worked for about 6 months....before it blew out... On the facotry wiring 1 year and counting.....zero sound difference.... So please...lets just keep the information correct... Answer: So you can run your OEM horns with the hella's and not over load your wiring.... If anything....the OEM 12v relay is higher quality than the POS Hella Pep-Boys relay.... |

FYI, I've had my hella relay for over a year and it has not blown. In fact, I liked it so much that I bought another one for my radar detector. It's all in the wiring. |
