Default JDM BG Legacy Grill <for sale>

Hey there,

I have a JDM BG Legacy Grill for sale. It's off of a 1996 BG Legacy Wagon (Dark Blue).

It's in quite good condition, one of the lower clips has been broken and was previously glued on using silicon (shown in red circle below).

I'm in New Zealand (next to Australia) so the buyer will have to also pay postage. I will package it meticulously as in to ensure that there will be no damage while in transit.

Please email me with offers on pharnos@orcon.net.nz

Cheers,
Steve.

Does anyone have even a rough idea how much postage to the United States would run ?

It is a very nice grill.

It's approx. $50 NZD to airmail 2kg from NZ to the US (works out to about $35 USD).

35 nzd equals only 35 usd, that is good. 35 usd would only equal about 15 or 20 british pounds, which is NOT good...

It's probably too short. Yes it would fit, no it wouldn't fit perfectly.

Any blue on the grille is just outside light reflecting, it's not actually blue.

ok the front part of the grill (the part you'd see with the bonnet down) is dark blue, to match the dark blue car it came from. This is all factory colouring.

The back of it, and the top part that clips just infront of the radiator, is black unpainted plastic (you'd only see this when lifting the bonnet.

The badge is held on with gummy double sided tape stuff and removable (I removed the badge on my other grill to repaint the grill).

which looks like below (although now painted again to all black haha)

Okay, so the grill thats for sale origonally had a chrome plated plastic surround section that was painted that dark colour blue ? Based on the pictures it almost looks like the factory paint is starting to loosen up and maybe you can see some of the chrome on the outside edge ? If this is indeed true, maybe the rest of the blue paint on the outer chrome lip will also rub off rather easily ?

FWIW, the '95-'96 US Legacys had the "flat" bumpers with the "narrow" grill, and the later '97-'99 US Legacys had the much larger grill sections with an indentation on the top section of the bumper to accomedate the taller grill.

The White Legacy pictured features a semi-indented bumper and a slightly taller grill. As I understand it, this size grill is unique to the JDM and New Zealand/Australian market place and is slightly smaller than the '97-'99 Legacys sold in the US. Such a grill would fit these US Legacys (with like a barely noticable quarter inch gap between the bottom of the grill and the top of the indented bumper section) but would be too tall to fit the USDM '95-'96 Legacys.

There is a great deal of confusion between the US model years and the Far East / European model years, as the USDM market US-built BD Legacys ('95 - '99) were built elsewhere between '94 and '98.

What year is the White Station wagon pictured, Steve ?

FWIW, I have a dark red USDM '96 Legacy with the narrow grill and the straight bumper top. I am not sure if the grill you are selling will fit my car.

Thanks.
