Default I wish it had the boxer rumble!

Hey all! After the cruise the other night, I guess I have boxer rumble envy I did however pick up crashfx's old axleback for my 2.5i...here is a quick video clip of how it sounds in the parking lot, but I think it sounds better under load on the streets IMO. Enjoy, or not...whatever.

Arent the 06's equal length headers? That might be the problem.

Pretty much. I've got TWE (equal length) headers and there really isn't much rumble. I still think it sounds different/better than an inline 4 though.

Subiedrift, if you're like me you'll end up driving with the windows down all the time so you can hear the exhaust note better

Edit: Found a sound clip I did a while back. This makes it sound a bit better than it does in person; there's really a little bit of a tinny higher pitched noise the recording didn't capture.

I got it used from another member (crashfx), I believe it's a custom job, 2.25" diameter.

ANY axleback for the RS/WRX/STi will work...but stick to ones with a 2.25" diameter, anything bigger will lose TQ, and sound too raspy and loud.

Veryyyy nice james! It's got a goood deep rumble.
I've read on the other threads in the NA forum that we can purchase the Magnaflow or Stromung exhausts which replaces the Borla headers giving us the boxer rumble

Sounds good, your sandles on the other hand are a bit raspy. I did a quick search and it dosn't look like Borla has aftermarket headers for the 06's yet.
