I want to give credit where credit is due. I want to give a special "Thank You" to Trey and the rest of his crew at Cobb Tunning for getting me back in my STI. I don't know if you remember a post I posted a while ago asking about lambo doors, but I was in a motorcycle accident last November, which left me paralyzed from the chest down. I knew I wouldn't ride a motorcycle again, but the STI was still up in the air. Tom West, a fellow STI driver, sent out e-mails on my behalf to vendors asking for assistance in finding a way to allow me to drive again. Cobb answered the call.
I shipped my car out to Utah where Cobb installed "Suregrip" hand controls, 3" downpipe, heat shield, Scroth Quick Fit Harnesses (DOT 4 point harness), AccessPort (which was dyno tuned by Cobb), and last but not least, a 5zigen twin mode clutch system, which allowed me to keep the STI a standard 6 speed. Now it's time for some pics! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here, you'll find extra pics and a sound clilp Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions.

thats awesome!
However I would have thought they might do a paddle for the clutch, that way you could burn it some instead of just 'on/off'. |

Quote:
The button on the shift knob is basically my clutch pedal. So when I push the button, it disengages the clutch allowing me to shift. When I release the button, it reengages the clutch. As for the lever, I pull the lever toward me to add gas and I push the lever back and "out" to apply the brake. When the brake is applied, this also disengages the clutch. That comes in handy when I'm coming to a stop and don't have to worry about shifting. First gear and reverse are a little tricky. When I release the button, I have to add the right amount of gas or the car will stall. I'm getting the hang of it and my take off's are much smoother. |

how are those harnesses? Do they just plug into the back seat belts and run through the hole in the seat? That sounds like a nice way to add harnesses in an STi without a harness bar.
