I had my 04 STi reflashed with and Ecutek from Gruppe-s. I the car gained a lot of torque and ran much smother. But after a while, approx. 330 miles, I would get a CEL for cat deficiency. After resetting the Ecu by OBDII diag tool at dealership, It came back on after about 330 miles. I spoke with Mike at Gruppe-s and suggested I bring the car in. But a week before I was to go in, the car idled very, very rough while driving in a parking lot, and the CEL light went away. Since then the car felt just like when it was first reflashed. But now the light has come back again. I was wondering if any one had any ideas or suggestions.
The car has the following mods: AEM short ram, Gruppe-s headers, helix up-pipe, down pipe, Greddy evo exhaust(all catless), and a VF34. I basically carried over all the mods I had on my 04 WRX. Thanks in advance.

If I drive the vehicle there and the CEL light turns off, will they still be able to turn it off? Or will I have to wait until it comes back on? When the CEL light went off, I had it checked at the dealership and they did not detect any problems through the obd port.
I only ask this because this is what happened the first time I tried to take the car back. And its a +2.5 hour drive for me one way. |

If the light comes on, leave it be. Don't reset your ECU by unplugging your battery, or by using your scanner.
The light will eventually turn off, but the code will be in memory. Gruppe-S can then verify the code, and turn it off via some function in the Ecutek software. I'm sure it was just a minor oversight on the part of your tuner. |

I have the ecutek delta dash software to read any codes that my engine throws. If you go back to gruppe-s, it will be like teiva boy said, they will be able to pull it up in the list of historic trouble codes, and tell you how to fix it, or fix it themselves.

With something like enginuity I believe you can turn off codes. That is, if you're not locked out of your own ECU.

Thanks for the replies, I am in the process of trying to find some time away from work to visit Gruppe-S.
What is enginuity? Is it like the Cobb AP? |

) You buy a cable and are then able to edit your ROM as you please. We're able to edit roms much like Ecutek, though we're a little behind other efforts as we need a third party app to pull and flash roms files. www.enginuity.org Give this page a shot for similar programs ![]() http://www.openecu.org/index.php?title=Downloads |
