Question Anyone used this oil filter?

I just got sent a bunch of oil filters from Troncalli Subaru, GA but they are not the part number I've used before. They are about an inch taller than the regular oil filter and claim they're genuine subaru parts. Their part number is:
SOA5165100

BTW the car is a MY98 Impreza

thanks for any feedback,
;;;Gordon

Default Wow, this is interesting

Looks like an alternative OEM filter. Cheaper than the old one -- subaruparts.com lists it for only $3. Next time I order them, I'll get the details from Scott.

Lightbulb

It turns out those filters are for Subaru Loyales. They're sending me out 15208AA060s instead.

Default Thanks for the info!

Thanks! Was the SOA5165100 filter "Made in Japan"?

Default

It was a non-Purolator "Made in America" filter. Didn't seem to have an anti-drain-back valve either.
