I'm drivin a black bugeye.

They aren't too tough to install. You have to remove the rear driveshaft and the crossmember. Then you take the tail section off the trans and it simple slides out and you install this one. I am waiting on a diff to be shipped before I have one made up.

If you guys have one that you want to send to me to make it a RWD diff then it would be $200 to make one if you provide the diff.

This is as cheap as I'm going, so first payment takes it. I won't have another one for quite some time.

Has anyone or have you ever used it? Does the front feel heavy when turning? Are there any drawbacks to doing this? Sorry so many questions but it would be cool as **** to put on in and do a burnout in the wrx.

The biggest downside I can imagine would be the lifespan of the rear VLSD.

It was never really designed for all of the power to go trough it.

Im just supposing though

Damn, this sounds like a fairly simple install.

Maybe one day I'll buy one these along with a 4.44 rear diff

Talking Welding is fun!

Just my .02 cents to help out.

I have one of these that I made with a set of front axles stubs installed, which I have no intention of parting with. I love it, I originally did this just to get my car moving and then quickly how much fun it was to be RWD again. Mine is in a GC8 with a stock motor with bolt-ons. Dyno'ed 142 bhp and 150 ft/lbs at the rear wheels. The rear VLSD can handle the power if your not driving like a idiot, I drive like an idiot. My idiotic driving even got me a few drift sponsors, but didn't take advantage do to baby on the way.

The front end feels great while turning any front end push can be dialed out with less toe and more camber, or just use the throttle to push the rear out a bit. Some extra caster would be good if you plan on keeping it sideways with lots of throttle control. RWD GC8 are like Hachi's and can be spunn around really easy if your to heavy on the pedal or not paying attention.

No if you plan on using this for dyno or fuel savings you'll be fine. If you plan on drifting and pounding the piss out of your car, well you'll run into issues. The welds look great so you wouldn't worry about the center diff, but the shock of hundereds of clutch drops will cause failure to other parts of the drive line.

I'm moving back to AWD cause my baby boy needs a safe car to be in, but I'm boxiing my RWD conv. parts until I have a garage or bigger driveway for a new car. Then its going right back in.

Ok hope that helps people out and helps out Kev in his nice looking welds.

Oh with a 02 WRX 5 speed and a 4.11 rear I had massive wheel spin in the rain and could chirp 3rd. If any one need more fun factor points and doing donuts and long 3 geared tirefire burnouts in a Subi always causes mass confusion for people and internal chuckles.

Later
Danny

making your car RWD should add alot of power to the car right? Considering that their is no power going to the front wheels, wouldnt it get distributed tot he rear?

i dont care how old it is. I asked a question, never said i was interested in the out-dated product. Its a pretty reasonable question.
