Talking Any tri-state cyclists?

Any road cyclists out there? Mountain bikers? How about some tri state rides? Any racers out there (I race for Montclair)?

Cool

I mountain bike, but I've never raced. I live 4 miles from Wissahickon in the Fairmont Park system, so I go out there when I can. I want to try a beginners race soon. I have a 5 year old Gary Fisher Aquilla.

Got death pedal huh? No clips for me, I'd kill myself.

Pough town is right (well little pough town - Poughquag, close enough to Poughkeepsie, 20mins )

Comming up to Kingston sounds cool. Say spring or summer? There's only two place I know of here to ride. The 9's (909 State Park, off the Taconic) and Jame Baird Park (don't know if its open to the public, but it's open to Arlington HS's Mountain bike club )

Yea I bike too....mtn and road...i race both on occasion.

Rocky Mtn Element Team Only Frame (dual suspension MTB)
XT/XTR, Xfly. Spinergy REv-x Roks, Chris king hdset, phil wood BB, ton of other cool stuff...

Rocky Mtn Turbo Frame (road)
Dura-Ace, Helium wheels, Look HSC fork ,ITM millenium stem, chris king hdset, Phile Wood Ti BB, etc....weighs 16.4 pounds or so

basically if my car were modded in the same fashion as these bikes I would be pushing 900 HP or somethin and be able to run the slalom at over 100mph oh well...that's what happens when you work at a bike shop

Cannondale road bike (my bitch)...I hate cannondales, but it's fine for beating on. Has 105 parts.

If anyone around rochacha wants to ride let me know. I live in a house w/3 other guys who ride..we're on RIT's cycling team.

peace,
-Mike

Default 2 biking items for ya :)

I guess I should also mention that I'm selling 2 biking items...

Raleigh Team Issue Hardtail Frame:
You absolutely cannot buy this frame at a store or from a catalog. It is team only spec and I only have it because I'm friendly with the Raleigh Rep for the NY area.
Estimated value of the frame is $650. It is a beautiful blue and 18.5"
I built it up and rode it 3 times before deciding that I wanted a dual suspension freeride bike for jumping off big rocks and whatnot instead.
I will sell it for $300 as I don't have the money to put parts on it and I already have a mountain bike.

Rock Shox SID SL Fork:
This is Rock Shox top of the line cross country suspension fork. It is a fully adjustable air shock. It's a '98, but I haven't used it in 2 years. That year it was the lighest it has ever been...only 2.4 pounds. Yes...2.4 pounds...you can barely feel it in your hand
It is SID blue of course, 1 1/8" Threadless steerer tube. This fork retailed for $800 when it came out...then the price slowly came down to $700.
I am selling it for $250 with a Rock Shox shock pump.

If you are interested or have any questions please contact me at:
mfm5155@rit.edu

btw...I weigh less than 150 lbs and this stuff was NOT abused.

peace,
-Mike

I ride BMX (Street/trails/flatland) also. I ride a custom Infinity (the frame is custom and the parts are just customized).

I bike, sort of. I'm preparing for the half-Ironman in Florida this August. Would love more locals to train with, although I already have a training parter in Glassboro.

Later!

Sleeper who is your Derby rep?
Its not Herby is it . . that is my rep.

Well to the question at hand.
I raced mountain for many years:
XC Jr Mens Expert
DH Jr Mens Expert
DS Jr mens Expert
Trials Jr Mens Sport

I was on my way to going to Pro/Elite back in 96 in XC DH and DS but a bad crash at the eastern nationals in Norwalk CT, the all mighty Jack Rabbit Run" left me with a seperated shoulder and a broken color bone at my last expert event. Needless to say it put me off my bike for a while and I went to college and stopped biking. Then about two years back I got a Coppi road bike with a full Record 10 spd kit and tried that for a while. Then this summer I got a smoking deal on a M800 raliegh from the rep and started Mountain biking again.

Lots have changed since then and I find myself jumping stairs and small cliffs more then anything else . . I think I'm going to start DS and DH again next season. So if anyone know of a good Dually frame to go for let me know. I think I'm going for a Cove G-Spot. Unless someone can change my mind.

So if anyone is in the westchester or LI area nad wants to ride drop me a line.

Oh bike list:
16.5 M800 set up for hopping and jumping(no big ring here!)
17 GT Psyclone Team frame (Steal baby!) XC
54cm Coppi Steal frame (Full record and sub 18lbs) Soon to be sold I think.

Future rides:
Indy Fab Crown Jewel road bike
Indy Fab Custom Freeride hard tail
What can I say I like steal!
Possible Cove G-spot or Rocky Mountain RM7 DH
And a Haro Extreme 3 . . just because I can get it at a dirt cheap price.

And I wonder why I have no money for my car!

Later
~Danny~

Finally a topic I can weigh in on!!

I ride/race mountain bikes and I am also the customer service and pro team manager for Iron Horse Bikes. I have riden and raced throughout the Northeast for the last 10 years. I currently race expert dh 25-29 class and am always up at Plattekill, Bear Creek, MT. Snow, etc.

If anyone is wondering, I was the guy who showed up at Rally New York w/ two slalom bikes on the top of the WR Blue 02 WRX wagon or the car you may see cruising around western Suffolk with backwards Thule racks (b/c they don't clear the rear on the WRX wagon...the ONLY thing about the car that irks me btw).

Anyone who is looking to get together for some riding in the offseason drop me a line at todds1275@aol.com. I'm open to pretty much any type of riding...xc, road, urban, shuttle runs.

I have just formed a new team here in the Northeast of pro level downhillers. We are looking for sponsors so if any of you have connections drop me a line. Of the team riders, I have a Wrx, one of the rider's dad owns a Wrx (grwrx???), and another is a gti guy who is preping a mk2 golf to race some club rally next season.

Hi Todd - just wanted to re-state my offer for the use of my trailer. It could be a nice rolling billboard.
