Default Varying Idle

My car will idle fine for awhile and the all of a sudden start varying the idle up and down from like 650 to 980 rpm in a nice pattern. I generally does it once warma and idling over 30 seconds. Just for the record I have a MY98 RS.

Default Temp is

The temperature is around 50 to 40 degrees and it will do it either when the car is warming up or has been running for a long time.

Do you have an Apexi S-AFC? If you do, go into the Deceleration mode and reduce the amount of fuel added. Ex: If it's set at 1.5+, take it down to .5+ or even disable it. Then see if that takes care of the idling problem. Just a guess.

Actually i have the S-AFc and it does this to my idle also... but i also have large injectors... I was just wondering if it was getting cooler there... because i've noticed that this happens here but its into the - C.... so... maybe not such a big problem...

Josh its the idle air control valve on the 98's the same thing that makes the flywheel cause your car to stall

Default Question?

Okay, but why would it go from a pefectly fine idle one moment and then change? It will idle pefectly fine for like 30 seconds or so and the start going nuts with nothing changing.
Thanks,
Joshua

mine does this too, its the subaru warm up cycle..if you let it sit, it will stabilize....my idle RPM is about 670-720rpm...
My SAFC has no Decel AIr set up, and my lo throttle points are zero'd out...
