Question Do I need an alarm system?

I just purchased a new WRX. I drive and park at a T station every weekday for work. I have a few questions.

1.) Would you recommend that I get an alarm system?
2.) If so, what system would you recommend?
3.) Do you know anyone in the Nashua,NH area that does a good job of installing alarm systems?

Thank you for your response.

OK, now acting serious!

Yes, I would recommend an alarm. I have the factory upgrade, and for the $150 I paid, it's damn worth it. As far as aftermarket alarms, I haven't really been following those too much. But, if you're willing to spend the cash, I'd get one with a remote starter. Especially, now that winter is near.

Yeah, get the subaru alarm system. It'll pay for itself in insurance savings in just 25 years, too!

the subaru alarm is a bit strange. when it's engaged and i boot the front of the front tire, it chirps to say "careful, brother". but if i boot the BACK of the front tire, it doesn't do anything, even if i kick a bit harder.

now you know where to slash a wrx's tires
raj
PS: getting back on topic, yeah get an alarm definitely. it's not very expensive.

Oh crap, it just occured to me... I too park at a T station everyday, but I can't use my alarm when I'm parked at work because it will go off everytime a train comes into the station. I suppose you can probably park far enough from the tracks to avoid this anoyance, but it is something to consider.

I think the factory subaru alarm is a nice upgrade to the keyless system in the WRX.

Iowannaski:
I believe you can adjust the sensitivity on the alarm so it won't do that (go off when a train comes by). You wouldn't drive a Silver WRX or RS and park over at Wellington T-Stop?

redobs: Stop eyeing my sister!

Thank you for the responses. One more question: what do you think about LoJack? Is it good or bad?

Thank you once again.

Had it.

Does pretty things with the parking lights when you unlock the doors.

I would say better if in Boston a lot, but since your in Nashua, probably not worth it. Factory is probably enough.

There is also the argument do you want an Impreza WRX back if it was taken for a joy ride.

Ummm...that's just the alarm. That's not the actual Lojack system. Lojack is good if you live in a high theft area and have lots of goodies in your car. The cars are usually recovered before major damage has been done to the car. It's probably overkill in NH.

BTW, your sister's hot!! Grrrrrr!!

paultg: It's overly cryptic, I know, but the "MBTS by the MBTA" in my location stands for "Manchester-by-the-Sea by the Metro Boston Transportation Authority."

You must come down by West Beach then?

You must have seen the guardrail a few times then. This is very close to the church by the flowe rpot.

I was bringing some friends back to Gordon...
