this is if you have a base map for a stock sti engine already loaded in, i could send u my map if u dont and you can do this process only with the old inj trim being 760 and the new being 850
550cc there's ur problem if u swapped injectors w/o re-programming the ECU its gonna dump way too much fuel and flood it, tahts what it sounds like to me, u'll need to go into tools menu...the easiest way to see if this is the problem would be to go to the injector change trim, and set the new trim setting to 850 and old setting to 550 the output should then be equivilent to the output of the 550cc inj....then if thats ur problem like i think it should start w.o dumping fuel like that feel free to PM me if you have any questions that should be the fix u need to make ur car run til you can get it properly tuned that is this is if you have a base map for a stock sti engine already loaded in i'm giving this advice knowing very litte info about ur situation (what you have given me), and like i stated this is based on the fact you have a base map for a stock sti Last edited by mxturboracer86; 09-08-2006 at 08:59 PM. |

Thanks dude for the tip. On what map do I have is what I really don't know!!! It was suppost to be some for the new injectors and Turbo. But the problem is exactly as you describe, it dumps fuel at start, meaning injector setup is wrong. I'll follow ur procedure and send u a post to see how that worked...thanks again!!! An air question, how much pwer do you think I'll improve over stock with this changes, so far I want to dust all evos of the zone!!!!! Stage1 and 2 evos over here |

the biggest thing is having it tuned for the set-up and how good of a driver u are but no doubt wit that set-up tuned even the worst of driver's should be able to be beat a lightly modded evo

Great dude, with ur change now the car starts, idles, and acelerates...but I have a weird problem, the boost is too high, it engage at top revs. How can I get boost to lower RPMs? Or is the Turbo to big for the aplication and too much spool? |

Without a base map you have a lot of work ahead of you. Did you buy the unit through Phil at Element Tuning?
How big is the turbo? What are you using for boost control? |

the gt35r probably wont hit full boost til around 4500rpm, just b/c of the side of it, as far as more boost down low, you can check in the setting menu under boost control and see what that is set to... usually want it 1000rpm below where you start to make boost, but that's if ur using the hydra for ur boost controller

The base maps are conservative so you will need to tune for maximum power. Also 35R cars don't have much "punch" but instead have a linear but hard pull.

This all sounds confusing, and just does not seem to make any sense, all the factors just do not add up.
Are you sure what you have is a Hydra(not a fake) how did you come across purchasing it? Are you sure you have the correct wiring harness for the car? Who installed these new parts on your car? any pictures you have or can get will greatly help |

Don't worry about this. The Hydra moved down the line through multiple distribution channels before it made it to him but it was originally an Element Hydra. The map that was orginally installed was removed through "user error" just not sure which user and I had sent them a new base map last week.
This is a highly modified Subaru and it needs to be tuned, it's as simple as that. We don't send out 550 whp base maps so he will need to seek help from someone who can guide him with the tuning process. With that said the base map is very close and only needs minimal adjustments to timing, boost, and fuel to hit 430 whp on pump fuel. I have tuned countless 35R cars with stock motors and they rarely need more than 2 hours of tuning to be optimized for pump fuel with this base map. Thanks, Phil www.elementtuning.com |
