Default First Time to Park City

Aight I have been going to CO a few times and wanna try somthing differnt. I am a snowboarding and everyone is telling me that park city is the place to go. I am going to go with 3 other people and I am looking for some good places to stay and eat while I am there. We are thinking we are going to be there early January. Any info would help! Remember that we are all just 20 year old college kids with limited money.

I would rather stay in Park City and skip the whole half hour ride everymorning. It would be nice to be able to take a break from the hill and go to the room and get some food to avoide eating on the mountian.

Wherever you stay you better be there before or after Sundance. You will have no luck getting a room unless you book very soon.

I left high school in Park City for La Crosse, that's weird. Fun town for its size, that's for sure.

I love staying at the Westgate Hotel at the Canyons. It's one of those places that you can stay cheap if you sit through their ridiculous timeshare presentations. Personally, I pay full price and get a decent room so that I don't have to put up with that.

Silver King lodge is OK, and it's at the base of the resort, the Park Meadows or Courtyard are fine too.

Unfortunately, having grown up in Park City, we realized that as poor high school students, we couldn't afford to do anything there. We mostly hung out in Salt Lake.

Honestly, I would suggest staying in the Salt Lake valley and visiting the other ski resorts as well as Park City. I guarantee you'll save money.

PC is nice, the canyons has a lot of grounds. The nightlife in PC is nice and you can bar hop unlike SLC which is the "Club Scene"...The skiing in PC is nice but some of the other resorts have much to offer as well...I would try Snowbird for atleast a day if you come out...

i too grew up in PC -graduated in 92
i think that the reason people don't like skiing at PCMR is that the really good terrain is of trail and unmarked

if you want the bar/party scene the pc it is but if your there for the skiing ...
stay in slc ski at park city alta and snowbird

deer valley if you want to ski the groomers and mingle with the annoyingly rich folk .... and the canyons .. i won't ski at the canyons again unless its free
the layout of the mountain and most specifically the width of the trails(major arteries) is far too narrow - dam right deadly if its crowded

pc added a new ski in ski out base area this year ..you might check that out

or forget utah all together and go to whistler .. its so much better its not even comparable
