I *think* it might be the edition that comes with moonroof, tint, alarm upgrade, special "decor", and wheel locks standard.

The 2.5i SE comes with whatever the wrx has, minus the engine and some minor performance parts.

It basically comes standard with Wrx seats, auto climate controls, 6 disc CD changer, moonroof, wrx rims, body colour side mirrors, leather steering wheel, wrx pedals, upgraded speakers w/ tweeters, upgraded alarm system and foglights.

From 2006 2.5i - $23,850 (You get none of the above)
From 2007 2.5i SE - $24,125 (You get everything above)

I shoulda waited for the 07' 2.5i SE . . .

My dealer will receive one this week ... and my brother might buy it if I can convince him not to buy a Mazda3.

This car is really a great deal!

For the 2005 MY they had one very similiar for the US market, but not enough people were interested.

Yes, I agree: I WANT ONE!
How do I go about buying one in Canada (Province of Ontario is nearest my home in the US) and exporting it to the United States?

With all due respect, I've never heard of a similar model being offered in the United States. Are you perhaps referring to the SE (Sport Appearance Package) offered on the sedan version only for MY 2005? If so, that's an entirely different animal from what they're offering in Canada. If memory serves me correctly, I don't think the 2005 US SE upgrade package was anything more than a cosmetic package (hence the moniker Sport Appearance Package): a RS sedan with sport seats, rocker panel extensions and a few other trim items. The 2007 Canadian offering is much more substantive and the real deal.

FWIW, I believe the closest SOA has come in recent years to offering a meaningful, value-packed Impreza model is the Impreza Outback Sport SE. In fact we have a 2006 Regal Blue/Steel Grey OBS SE wagon in my family; it's fine for folks who want a two-tone paint job and a raised suspension, but it's not for me and countless other Impreza fans.

Now back to my fundamental question:
How do I go about buying a 2007 Impreza 2.51 SE Wagon in Canada and exporting it to the United States for licensing and registration???

Well the spec power went down for most vehicles due to the new regulations or whatever.

It pisses me off about the pricing for the WRX and the STi here. $49,000 CDN for an STi!!!!

Taken from cars101.com

2.5 RS Sport Package Sedan

Body colored side ground effects
4.11 final gear ratio with manual trans (replaces 3.9) makes it slightly quicker
Aluminum pedals (manual)
Premium am/fm 6disc CD changer, 6 speakers, 140w
4 Upgraded speakers
2 Tweeters (tweeters)
Body colored mirrors
Sport bucket seats w/ integrated headrests (front)
Leather parking brake
Momo leather steering wheel
Sport dashboard instruments
STi type fog light covers (unless you get fog lights)

All of the above came in it's own model, while it says "Package" it had it's own model number (5JC) and it's own seperate MSRP, not an add on like the Outback Sports SE Package is currently an odd on option.

Now go to subaru.ca and look at the specs sheets the impreza which show a base model, SE, and WRX you will see there are no differences between suspension, transmission, and breaks between the base model and the SE.

If you take into account the model year differences in options and upgraded features the 05 US Sports Package is basicly the same as the 07 Canadian impreza SE.
