Default I need used Kenwood HU advice

My car was broken into and I need a new Kenwood HU because I have the Kenwood Sirius tuner.

If it's not too much more, maybe I can jump into the higher end used stuff, like the older touch-screen models. Which ones are good? Is buying used a bad idea? I'd like as close to $400 as possible.

Buying used isn't a bad idea, but HUs have the shortest lifespan of car audio stuff IMO. You can always try eBay for some good deals obviously. Another possibility is to sell your tuner and switch brands (it can be done without screwing up any subscription plan you are on).

Well, I am not sure what you mean by deal. I like the Alpine IVA-W200, lots of people like the Pioneer Avic-Z1 (or N3), or others like the Eclipse AVN series; but none of those are patciularly cheap. What kind of budget do you have, and waht features would you like?

I have the KDC-X689 from kenwood. If your Sirius is the SIR-KEN1 it should work. I like the stereo alot and it's pretty cheap. The face flips when you turn off the car too. If you want to see it and you live in the Manassas area I would be glad to meet up. Also if you go another way and have the SIR-KEN1 I would be glad to take it off your hands. LMK

I'd like a headunit that is double-DINN and matches the sti interior. My old kenwood had red backlighting but it was very dark and I couldn't see it at night. It also could only display artist or title one at a time. The in dash screen HU are very factory looking. Navigation is nice, but I know it costs more so I'd add it later. The only features I need to have are that I can play the ipod and sirius through it. I'd have to get a used model to get close to my budget of as close as possible to $400.

I'd like to find an old kenwood that can work with my sirius tuner, but if there is another HU that makes a better deal, I'll use that and sell my sirius tuner.

The new Kenwood 6019 is nice...as they started to integrate the Blue Tooth Technology into them. I have the 7017 in my '04 Wagon.
