Background info.

I bought this car two years ago from another fella for $20K who had built the car down in the states, this is how it looked. From what he told me the motor only had 8000 miles on it, and only 1000 on the turbo.

Mods that were done to the car when I bought it:

USDM EJ257 Swap, with Cosworth Big Port Heads
FP Green Turbo w/ 2.4" inlet
Stock Manifold w/ APS uppipe

800cc DW injectors and Walbro fuel pump

did you see what it had done to it? Keep in mind this is back a few years ago when everything was expensive, also the exchange rate is a bit different up here, probably would have equaled about $15k in the states, the average price then in the calgary area for a stock 2003 bugeye was $18k so $20k for a heavily modded bugeye was pretty decent i think.

so the motor is out, and everything is taken off, all thats left is the oil pan and then the heads to take off.
found some disturbing evidence, background info:
three months ago my car started to run really rough more than just a misfire. took it to subaru and they couldnt check the codes cause of the ecutek tuning. so i got it home and decided to pull all the plugs, the front passenger plug no longer had any gap. couldnt come to think of what it was since i hadnt heard any noises so i got a new plug and threw it in, problem went away for the most part but still wasnt quite right, threw in all new coil packs as well and those helped but still wasnt 100%. thats when i decided i would pull the motor and start my build up.
so today in the front passenger cylinder we looked in the intake ports and there is evidence of a leak past one of the valves, so now im back thinking about whether something broke off of the piston which would cause the poor sealing valve and whacked plug.
we will see friday when i tare down the block.
pictures up tomorrow night. along with some parts for sale.

Here are the pictures from pulling the motor, will finish tearing down the block on friday! I also will finish removing the other remaining stuff in the engine bay.
Ordered pistons, crank, oil pump and bearings from Ron at Raw 1 last week!

heres a shot of a EJ25 in its natural environment.

here are some pictures as the car stands now, no shots of the interior (have the 05 console somewhat installed) i started to clean up the fender areas, (shave it...kinda) the paint on the rad support is what the entire engine bay will be painted, i have to go up to work so there wont be any progress for a while, but when i'm back i will tear down the block (cursed stripped cam bolts haulted the tear down for a bit) and send it to the machine shop along with finish up the engine bay,
any comments are much appreciated!
