Default passenger side air bag issues

i have an 06 tribeca, and my wife wieghs around 115 and the passenger side air bag does not activate all the time. i had it in to the dealer on 3 different occasions ,and to set the parameters to be more sensitive, and i stll have the problem it does not happen everytime ,but it happens enough to be a concern. the dealer now tells me they can do no more with it. i called soa and they said that it is working fine that there is nothing else they can say . has anyone else had this problem i know of 2 others in my area 2 of them got new cars

My son is less than 100 lbs and he has no problem get air bag activated. I think your may have a faulty seat sensor. I can't believe SOA will not do anything because if something bad happens, SOA is liable.

My Grandson, who weighs about 85 lbs, activates ours without any problem. I'd push the issue some more if I were you.

well they keep saying that there is no issue it is working the way it is supposed to. i have talked to 3 different people, and they all say i will call ya back. i have not got a call back yet . i own a 03 wrx,and an 04 forester xt also. so i have a few subies. the wife sits straight up in the seat and sometimes it will take about a minute for it to work, and other times it works right away, and other times it does not work at all. the sensitivity has been adjusted to the most sensitive setting with the same results.i need to find other people with this same issue

Or not. Ask them to replace the whole passenger seat or bear the legal responsibility. You can also ask your wife to sit in their show room Tribeca to see the effect. Better yet, Find another Subie dealer to have your issue fixed.
