Moved from MA = Sea Level, 02 wrx, vf30 and all associated mods, to Cheyenne WY 6200ft. I had killer 93 and 94 oct maps but now the car runs like crap. Even with the standard vf30 91 oct COBB map. I get odd A/F and EGTs and lots of boost spikes. Any WOT over 4k = flashing cell.
Anyone in Cheyenne, Ft Collins or Denver with cobb protunner, or anyone with some street tuner exp? Thanks.

Thanks for the info. 3hrs is a long one-way for a tune. I did find some ford guys willing to help with the street tuner so hopefully I'll get it so I can full throttle a bit wihtout the bucking and cel. If not, I'll make the drive. The roads out here are amazing--happy jack--so I'll need to find a safe tune for 5200-10,200 ft.
Anyone have a good start point or suggestions? Are there any auto/rally x events within an hr. Thanks. I look forward to a local meet/ride. Also have a yamaha r1 lotus replica kit car in works that will be on the road in spring--950-1050lbs, 160 bph.. Nuts. |

If you think a 3 hour drive is long, you moved to the wrong place. Almost all the race events are here in Colorado or out in Salt Lake. If you want to race, it's gonna be 3-6 hours on average to compete...

Dobbs,
That would be cool. Are you running a street tuner? I will drop the green for the cobb software and cable tonight. As for the wide band, I had one mounted in my glove box, but have been making due with the autometer AF meter w/bosch sensor--tells me if the vac hose to the fpr pops off or if I am out of range--just not how far off.. I can easily borrow a handheld, but will have to make due with either the strap on sensor or the post turbo mount. I'll hit you up once the software arrives, and I have a wideband solution. R/ Bonjo. |
