do u have good afr gauge like a innovate wideband? that should tell the story if its getting too much fuel because it will be super rich. the afr gauge doesnt lie unless u didnt install it right of coarse lol.

I'm by no means an expert at any of this, but have you tried running your usdm ECU?
I would swap it in just to see if it runs fine, that way you can see if it hardware or software related.
If it runs fine you know its the jdm ECU and tune problem. If it still runs like crap you know its hardware.

I'll pull the map later on today. I've been trying to diagnose with the crappy Subaru select monitor, that works half assed. I'll post a log later on...

wideband^???? a swap like this requires the purchase of a tactrix cable as well with all the possible problems that can arise.

Have all that.

Got my ecuedit pro licence back. I'll pull the map in a minute.

In the meantime, I think ( again ) I found the ''coupable''.

A/F sensor is giving me crap, and I think the ecu is trying to enrich it for no reason.

Here's a log : https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BxF...E2ZDc3YWExNDEx

and another one ( longer )

https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BxF...MzOGI3MDMzZmRm

Someone has to tell me I'm not wrong and that the AF sensor is %$#$@#$%

Damn I missed ecuedit , good to have you back.

i cant see the logs. idk why but what is ur afr at idle or cruising? ur running off a non stock one correct? i guess i never thought of including that in my question. at startup u should see like 11.5afr and then it will quickly go up to 14.7 if the car is warm. seeing ur in canada its prob cold so if the car is cold then it will slowly go up until it starts to warm up a bit then 14.7 all day crusing. idling etc. do u have a different set of injectors you could try? is ur stock upstream wideband o2 sensor good? idk if u have v8 or 7 but its either right next to the turbo on the dp or in the up pipe if you are v7. a bad sensor will mean the ecu doesnt know the real reading.
Send me the logs to bahrb7498@uwc.edu and ill look at them on my school computer via excel or however u have them on ur pc saved as.

Allright buddy, thanks for the help. In google docs all you have to do is click on download up top. It's a .csv file.

I read them with ecu edit, ( I told you I suck at logging lol )

But it's idle. like 16-17afr all across. At 900 rpm. NO LOAD.

it's exactly what I did and it fixed the problem.

I need to have the tune checked, when I feather the throttle, it hesitates a bit. I'll check the bypass valve and clean it up...

thanks gaise

Mine has started to idle really rich for no reason, wonder if the sensor needs to be replaced. I thought maybe the timing was off, but it seems to be o.k., see video.

its prob the sensor. they get really hot being closest to the engine and have irratic readings when they get older. more or less go richer because they dont know what to do. its a tell tale sign when doing closed loop on romraider when you get spots all over the damn place. interpolate and redo it and its all over again in new spots. given you have no post maf leaks or boost leaks.

Hey has anyone done any port and polishing on the TS headers and uppipe?

There are these little ridges just inside each pipe, looks like the welds themselves.

Has anyone sanded these down and smoothed out the welds? Seems like you could see some gains if these were taken down or removed, I just wouldn't want to take them down entirely...?

If you're reaaaaally bored, do it, but I can't see it making a measurable difference on a already highly tuned engine.

I noticed that on mine as well, not every pipe has the little bump from the weld but one is pretty noticeable. I may try to file it a little, but it is probably pretty hard from all the heat cycles by now.

Just got my car tuned tonight!

Wow.....nice. Full boost at 3200 rpms (20lbs) and it pulls hard all the way to 8K.
That's quicker spool than my TD04 with 19T wheel - it hit full boost at 3600rpms and the small 16g didn't spool until 4100 on the ej205 of course.

Power is smooth and instant - gotta love this setup.

I really wonder what a vf37 would do....??
