Yeah - but I don't weld...so I'd have to have the car flat-bedded to a shop - and hope they do it right.....and that'll be $100-$200 - plus the $300, that's $400-$500 - I can buy the Tomioka racing downpipe for $400 and I don't have to flatbed my car anywhere.

If I could weld, it would be a different story...

When I did it I just threw the stock downpipe on and drove down to Kent's shop like that, and you're a lot closer to there than I am. He did a perfect job welding mine up.

Yeah, if I can't find a pre made option then I'll hit up Kent. Just don't want to get pulled over on my way over.

Did you use the jdm downpipe for the bell mouth or did you buy the elbow?

Seems like there is some real opportunity for a vendor to make some money if they could produce a TS down pipe for about $350-$450, less would be better!
Tomioka has been on back order for months because they can't keep up with the demand for dp, I was told that it was holding up their complete kit as well.....someone needs to step up and fill the void.

I just bought the elbow and then used my old downpipe. Shouldn't be a problem with getting pulled over considering you would be on your way to get it fixed.

Tomei makes a catless twinscroll jdm downpipe only problem is its jdm length.

Also kinguwara they make TS elbow and a downpipe. Both downpipes are about 350ish and the elbow is 180

This is exactly what I plan to do. And while I'm there, I'll have Kent work over my FMIC pipes for a better fit. He does great work.

I got a USDM length TS downpipe from P&L motorsports in Chicago. It fits like a glove. Unfortunately, they only had one. At one point in time they had a jig to make these, but they scrapped it because there was no demand.

ugh! LOL...the modding bug might have bit me again... this time it wants a rotated turbo setup. I already have a stock location ATP GT3071R turbo with 850cc injectors and a APS 550 FMI, fujitsubo EL header, 3 port BCS (not grimmspeed)

I'm thinking about going with another Garrett GT30 but a 3076 this time possibly a GT35R. The question I can't decide on is what A/R to choose. If I go with a smaller one it'll spool faster and probably be more fun but won't this affect my EGTs? What size should I go with?

Obviously I'll need to make accommodations for the rotated setup but that'll be another thing to deal with once i decide on the turbo. I want it to be fun and enjoyable but I do want to be able to not wait for power too LOL. any additional input would be great.

I don't have the exact dyno sheets on my right now but it was somewhere around 330~350whp with about 310tq or something. this is after a road tune and a short time on the dyno. I haven't tuned the car in a few years.

21psi? If I were to upgrade my turbo I would want around 375whp.

I thought that turbo would do better. 310whp 288 on stock vf30 for me. What do u guys think about a fp red? Or dom 3? I've seen good numbers with both turbos

well... to be honest, it could. but I'm going to try have another tuner try. my friend did my tune and it's been good since I had the turbo installed. can't complain though. I'm not a numbers whore. I prefer drive ability though. I don't mind a little bit of lag if I can't avoid it as long as driving the car puts a smile on my face

true or if I can find a billet wheel for my turbo I have no idea what the AR size is on this particular turbo though... I'm assuming .63 but I could be wrong.

I'd hate to have to tune twice though =\

What type of lag does it have, by what rpm do you reach that 21PSI in third (if you're on the 5 speed, or 4th for a 6 speed)?

FYI- For AZ swappers....my 2002 WRX with V8 EJ207 swap passes AZ emissions.

It took them a while and the guy kept shaking his head and he called over what I assumed was a supervisor but they said I passed.

I figured it was worth a try, since you get 2 free re-tests, figured I just go home and swap ECU's and come back.

My Innova ODB II scanner said Emissions Ready - so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Hope this helps other AZ swappers!

if you have a tactrix you can go into the rom and do the force pass readiness monitors...

to the guy above with the 3071 get some ewg action and get a retune to help it out in general. i am sure some things have changed over time. will help with top end and getting rid of all the excess back pressure.

Ah....I thought it was a problem with the JDM ECU talking to the OBDII scanners that the emissions guys have. I didn't realize you could simply "force readiness" and it would pass (on the JDM ECU.)
