We swapped his IAC over from his WRX and it seems to have solved the idle issue. ![]() AVCS wiring is complete and double checked, we reset the ECU and CEL is still on. Car will start and idle great but won't rev past 2700 rpm. None of the other sensors looked damaged but we can't pull the CEL since I don't have a tatrix cable anymore. ![]() Any other ideas are appreciated.

^^ Get the CEL checked out asap... take it to an autozone or other local parts shop, that'll do it for free. Car could be in 'limp mode' for some reason... which will limit the revs afaik.

Sounds like it still in limp mode, you should take it for a gentle drive, I had the same issue and it cleared up when I drove it a short distance.

Stock dp is cast iron. But it is just an open bell mouth.

Huh. I didn't think it was cast (could be wrong). But here's a pic of a V9 dp.

http://www.avoturboworld.com/avoshop...roll-p-10.html I hope the stock bellmouth DP is cast iron, would likely mitigate any wanting to do a custom catted DP. And of course the cheap eBay stuff sounds to good to be true (but atleast has exhaust & waste gases separated). Even with a decent ceramic coating I doubt it would perform as well as a cast iron bell mouth on the stock DP (if it actually is). Here is some cheap eBay twin scroll EJ207 DP if anyone is interested. The second one looks rather well made. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2002-TO-2007-...#ht_996wt_1037 http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SUBARU-IMPREZ...#ht_500wt_1054 Last edited by 2JZ; 12-12-2012 at 10:24 PM. |

The guy welded mine up had no issues welding the stock bellmouth to a ss dp. It sure looks like ss to me when it is cut, looks cast from the outside though. Weird, my metallurgy isn't that great though.

I bought the AVO world outlet. It doesn't have the splitter in it as they were getting interference with the wastegates. Otherwise it seems well made. There is a fair restriction as it bends down towards the downpipe, but I don't know if that matters much. I welded a flange to a cheapo ebay exhaust. Its too loud, and stinky, so I am going to be adding a cat to it eventually. |

Had my ej207 tuned today by Mike at EFI Logics, here is the final product graph, the car drives awesome, it's a 93oct tune.
I'm using a Tomei down pipe, borla hush catback, Perrin turbo inlet, walbro 255 fuel pump, Ixiz concepts ebcs on an otherwise stock 2003 jdm ej207 ver 8 engine and ecu with working AVCS. Thanks EFI Logics, your professionalism and quality of work is top notch, thank you. ![]() ![]() Last edited by D-Rodman; 12-14-2012 at 10:32 AM. |

I hope mine looks similar. I'll probably put out considerably less though due to the stock downpipe and BCS. Other than that our mods are similar

D-Rod,
Congrats!!! Numbers look great on a otherwise stock motor. On my Ver 7, with 91 Oct, at 17psi, I made 262whp @ 6400 and (only) 242tq @ 3700 rpm. Mods were Hallman MBC, Walboro pump, Invidia catless dp, NGK one step IR plugs. My AVCS were erratic so I'm still hunting down the problem. Since I need to fix/replace the leaky fuel line, I recently bought a new Perrin inlet, Cobb catted DP, Grimmspeed phenolic spacers and Samco AFT MAF hose, all to install while the manifold is off. I will head back to get a retune after all that is done. Hopefully with the AVCS sorted out, bump up the boost slightly to reach 300whp. Doable with the VF30?? |

Catless Tomei down pipe with the factory donut catback gasket. Not sure how to answer your question about Mike, I asked him how he got started tuning. He told me he is an engineer and started out a few years back tuning his own car, the job felt natural to him. Fast forward, he is becoming a prominent CT tuner on his own right and merit. He did a fantastic job on my car.

Efi logics is legit. And so is sti mikey. I got my v7 tuned twice by chris @ efi logics before he passed. Stage 2 maxxed stock vf30. Came in with 290whp/247 at 18psi. Left with 298/264 on 18psi. Once I fixed a spark blowout issue due to a bad coil pack I was retuned for 21psi 310/288. Car runs great.

Just finished my v9 STI swap into my 02 wrx. It turns over but will not start. The ecu is v8 so it's not immobilized. Could it be that I didn't change the Neutral Safety Switch??? There is fuel at the fuel rails, dont know if maybe the injectors are stuck from sitting. Any ideas? Thanks guys.
