It looks like a big wiring job.
What are you planning to use for turbo and injectors? I also notice you didnt get the ac and ps pump, will your existing ones on your wrx just plug in?
I'm using all my stuff. I only need the heads really. My turbo is a vf30

so you will use a short block from a Legacy?
What engine do you have now and which ECU do you plan to run the EJ207 with?

That sucks, sorry i think the magic and reliability is to have the whole jdm shortblock and avcs package. but i hope you get your car up and running.

Maybe start a thread in the subaru conversions forum, so any specific issues and questions that you find unique to your hybrid don't confuse future swappers in this thread.

That's what I plan on doing. I just didn't want a bunch of people crying about using the "search" button

Florin1, get a v7 ecu and a IA Performance acvs harness to start with. Are you going to use the crank, rods and pistons from the 207 on your 205 cases?

No, he can reuse the EJ205 harness, add the AVCS wires and repin TGV wires.

Search for the DS1 Motorsports or IAP Avcs wiring diagram in this thread. I recall someone posting a google docs link.

Im plan on swapping a v7 ej207 into my 2000 2.5 RS. I had a vendor on here send me some pics of a few motors they had. I have a question, One of the pics had a ecu with 8A on it, is this the proper ecu for this motor?

That, + JDM ecu + tune= good to go. The manifold is the same(IIRC) except the TGV are deleted. Lmk how the install goes.

Ok, so i just read a ton of pages and didnt find my answer. Did the wiring swap according to DS1, shielded wire harness and stock pins. I turn the key on and the check engine light flashes rapidly. Scanner says 0 codes. It starts and runs great on V7 481 ecu. The engine is a V8 on a 2004 wrx wagon. Thanks for the help.

Does anybody know what the problem could be? I'm thinking one of the wires in the ECU plug did not seat properly. Would not having AVCS hooked up cause the CEL to blink?

666stars, read the last paragraph of your post, or call your lawyer and have him read and interpret for you. The Iap harness gets around the missing manifold wiring. The rest of the wiring is already on his car. Edit or delete your post, thank you.

Let's all simmer down a bit gentlemen. What D-Rodman was trying to say was, the wiring information has been spoken to many times and maybe you were a bit confused. Perhaps I should've said "He can use his EJ205 engine harness and simply add the AVCS wires, since the EJ205 engine harness is just short of the 4 AVCS wires.

In short, for those that are swapping the EJ207 over, if you already have a intact engine harness, you can reuse your EJ205 engine harness; no need to spend the extra money for a JDM EJ207 engine harness

I need some info. I have a 05 wrx and I am looking to do a full swap but Im not sure to what? my question is what is the easiest/best option for my car? V6, V7,V8,V9??? I have a lot of mods and wanted to know if I could reuse them or would I need to sell them and buy new ones? bigger injectors, turbo, up pipe, down pipe, front mount intercooler, exhaust, etc.. also with same mods done to a 207 what kind of power should I expect? I am at about 300whp and if I do the swap would like to put down more than that (with a good tune of course) is this doable? thanks in advance..
